The Message Help
6And how dare you take each other to court! When you think you have been wronged, does it make any sense to go before a court that knows nothing of God's ways instead of a family of Christians?G5111G5100G5216G2192G4229G4314G2087G2919G1909G94G2532G3780G1909G40 2The day is coming when the world is going to stand before a jury made up of Christians. If someday you are going to rule on the world's fate, wouldn't it be a good idea to practice on some of these smaller cases?G1492G3756G1492G3754G40G2919G2889G2532G1487G2889G2919G1722G5213G2075G370G2922G1646 3Why, we're even going to judge angels! So why not these everyday affairs?G1492G3756G3754G2919G32G3386G1065G982 4As these disagreements and wrongs surface, why would you ever entrust them to the judgment of people you don't trust in any other way?G1437G3303G3767G2192G2922G982G2523G5128G1848G1722G1577 5I say this as bluntly as I can to wake you up to the stupidity of what you're doing. Is it possible that there isn't one levelheaded person among you who can make fair decisions when disagreements and disputes come up? I don't believe it.G3004G4314G5213G1791G3779G2076G3756G4680G1722G5213G3761G1520G3739G1410G1252G303G3319G846G80 6And here you are taking each other to court before people who don't even believe in God! How can they render justice if they don't believe in the God of justice?G235G80G2919G3326G80G2532G5124G1909G571 7These court cases are an ugly blot on your community. Wouldn't it be far better to just take it, to let yourselves be wronged and forget it?G2235G3303G3767G2076G3654G2275G1722G5213G3754G2192G2917G3326G1438G1302G91G3780G3123G91G1302G650G3780G3123G650 8All you're doing is providing fuel for more wrong, more injustice, bringing more hurt to the people of your own spiritual family.G235G5210G91G2532G650G2532G5023G80 9Don't you realize that this is not the way to live? Unjust people who don't care about God will not be joining in his kingdom. Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex,G2228G1492G3756G3754G94G2816G3756G2816G932G2316G4105G3361G4105G3777G4205G3777G1496G3777G3432G3777G3120G3777G733 10use and abuse the earth and everything in it, don't qualify as citizens in God's kingdom.G3777G2812G3777G4123G3777G3183G3756G3060G3756G727G3756G2816G932G2316 11A number of you know from experience what I'm talking about, for not so long ago you were on that list. Since then, you've been cleaned up and given a fresh start by Jesus, our Master, our Messiah, and by our God present in us, the Spirit.G2532G5023G2258G5100G235G628G235G37G235G1344G1722G3686G2962G2424G2532G1722G4151G2257G2316 12Just because something is technically legal doesn't mean that it's spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I'd be a slave to my whims.G3956G1832G3427G235G3956G4851G3756G4851G3956G1832G3427G235G1473G1850G3756G1850G5259G5100 13You know the old saying, "First you eat to live, and then you live to eat"? Well, it may be true that the body is only a temporary thing, but that's no excuse for stuffing your body with food, or indulging it with sex. Since the Master honors you with a body, honor him with your body!G1033G2836G2532G2836G1033G1161G2316G2673G2532G5026G2532G5023G1161G4983G3756G4202G235G2962G2532G2962G4983 14God honored the Master's body by raising it from the grave. He'll treat yours with the same resurrection power.G1161G2316G1453G2532G1453G2962G2532G1825G2532G1825G2248G1223G846G1411 15Until that time, remember that your bodies are created with the same dignity as the Master's body. You wouldn't take the Master's body off to a whorehouse, would you? I should hope not.G1492G3756G3754G5216G4983G2076G3196G5547G142G3767G142G3196G5547G4160G3196G4204G3361G1096 16There's more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, "The two become one."G2228G1492G3756G3754G2853G4204G2076G1520G4983G1063G1417G5346G2071G1519G3391G4561 17Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never "become one."G1161G2853G2962G2076G1520G4151 18There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for "becoming one" with another.G5343G4202G3956G265G3739G1437G444G4160G2076G1622G4983G1161G4203G264G1519G2398G4983 19Or didn't you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you.G2228G1492G3756G3754G5216G4983G2076G3485G40G4151G1722G5213G3739G2192G575G2316G2532G2075G3756G1438 20God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.G1063G59G5092G1211G1392G2316G1722G5216G4983G2532G1722G5216G4151G3748G2076G2316
