Saul Persecutes David

19Now Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David; but Jonathan, Saul's son, delighted greatly in David.H7586H1696H3129H1121H5650H4191H1732 2So Jonathan told David, saying, "My father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore please be on your guard until morning, and stay in a secret place and hide.H3083H7586H1121H2654H3966H1732H3083H5046H1732H559H7586H1H1245H4191H8104H1242H3427H5643H2244 3"And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak with my father about you. Then what I observe, I will tell you."H3318H5975H3027H1H7704H1696H1H4100H7200H5046 4Thus Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father, and said to him, "Let not the king sin against his servant, against David, because he has not sinned against you, and because his works have been very good toward you.H3083H1696H2896H1732H7586H1H559H4428H2398H5650H1732H2398H4639H3966H2896 5"For he took his life in his hands and killed the Philistine, and the LORD brought about a great deliverance for all Israel. You saw it and rejoiced. Why then will you sin against innocent blood, to kill David without a cause?"H7760H5315H3709H5221H6430H3068H6213H1419H8668H3478H7200H8055H2398H5355H1818H4191H1732H2600 6So Saul heeded the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore, "As the LORD lives, he shall not be killed."H7586H8085H6963H3083H7586H7650H3068H2416H518H4191 7Then Jonathan called David, and Jonathan told him all these things. So Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as in times past.H3083H7121H1732H3083H5046H1697H3083H935H1732H7586H6440H865H8032 8And there was war again; and David went out and fought with the Philistines, and struck them with a mighty blow, and they fled from him.H4421H3254H1732H3318H3898H6430H5221H1419H4347H5127H6440 9Now the distressing spirit from the LORD came upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing music with his hand.H7451H7307H3068H7586H3427H1004H2595H3027H1732H5059H3027 10Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away from Saul's presence; and he drove the spear into the wall. So David fled and escaped that night.H7586H1245H5221H1732H7023H2595H6362H7586H6440H5221H2595H7023H1732H5127H4422H3915 11Saul also sent messengers to David's house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. And Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, "If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed."H7586H7971H4397H1732H1004H8104H4191H1242H4324H1732H802H5046H559H4422H5315H3915H4279H4191 12So Michal let David down through a window. And he went and fled and escaped.H4324H3381H1732H3381H2474H3212H1272H4422 13And Michal took an image and laid it in the bed, put a cover of goats' hair for his head, and covered it with clothes.H4324H3947H8655H7760H4296H7760H3523H5795H4763H3680H899 14So when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, "He is sick."H7586H7971H4397H3947H1732H559H2470 15Then Saul sent the messengers back to see David, saying, "Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him."H7586H7971H4397H7200H1732H559H5927H4296H4191 16And when the messengers had come in, there was the image in the bed, with a cover of goats' hair for his head.H4397H935H8655H4296H3523H5795H4763 17Then Saul said to Michal, "Why have you deceived me like this, and sent my enemy away, so that he has escaped?" And Michal answered Saul, "He said to me, 'Let me go! Why should I kill you?'"H7586H559H4324H7411H7971H341H4422H4324H559H7586H559H7971H4191 18So David fled and escaped, and went to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth.H1732H1272H4422H935H8050H7414H5046H7586H6213H8050H3212H3427H5121 19Now it was told Saul, saying, "Take note, David is at Naioth in Ramah!"H5046H7586H559H1732H5121H7414 20Then Saul sent messengers to take David. And when they saw the group of prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as leader over them, the Spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.H7586H7971H4397H3947H1732H7200H3862H5030H5012H8050H5975H5324H7307H430H4397H7586H5012 21And when Saul was told, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. Then Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.H5046H7586H7971H312H4397H5012H7586H7971H4397H3254H7992H5012 22Then he also went to Ramah, and came to the great well that is at Sechu. So he asked, and said, "Where are Samuel and David?" And someone said, "Indeed they are at Naioth in Ramah."H3212H7414H935H1419H953H7906H7592H559H375H8050H1732H559H5121H7414 23So he went there to Naioth in Ramah. Then the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on and prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah.H3212H5121H7414H7307H430H3212H1980H5012H935H5121H7414 24And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"H6584H899H1571H5012H6440H8050H5307H6174H3117H3915H559H7586H5030
