1Samuel 26
King James Version Help
26And the Ziphites came unto Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon?H2130H935H7586H1390H559H1732H5641H1389H2444H6440H3452
2Then Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.H7586H6965H3381H4057H2128H7969H505H977H376H3478H1245H1732H4057H2128
3And Saul pitched in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon, by the way. But David abode in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul came after him into the wilderness.H7586H2583H1389H2444H6440H3452H1870H1732H3427H4057H7200H7586H935H310H4057
4David therefore sent out spies, and understood that Saul was come in very deed.H1732H7971H7270H3045H7586H935H3559
5And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had pitched: and David beheld the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the people pitched round about him.H1732H6965H935H4725H7586H2583H1732H7200H4725H7586H7901H74H1121H5369H8269H6635H7586H7901H4570H5971H2583H5439
6Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee.H6030H1732H559H288H2850H52H1121H6870H251H3097H559H3381H7586H4264H52H559H3381
7So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground at his bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him.H1732H52H935H5971H3915H7586H7901H3463H4570H2595H4600H776H4763H74H5971H7901H5439
8Then said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee, with the spear even to the earth at once, and I will not smite him the second time.H559H52H1732H430H5462H341H3027H3117H5221H2595H776H6471H259H8138
9And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD's anointed, and be guiltless?H1732H559H52H7843H7971H3027H3068H4899H5352
10David said furthermore, As the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him; or his day shall come to die; or he shall descend into battle, and perish.H1732H559H3068H2416H3068H5062H3117H935H4191H3381H4421H5595
11The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD's anointed: but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster, and the cruse of water, and let us go.H3068H2486H7971H3027H3068H4899H3947H2595H4763H6835H4325H3212
12So David took the spear and the cruse of water from Saul's bolster; and they gat them away, and no man saw it, nor knew it, neither awaked: for they were all asleep; because a deep sleep from the LORD was fallen upon them.H1732H3947H2595H6835H4325H7586H7226H3212H7200H3045H6974H3463H8639H3068H5307
13Then David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of an hill afar off; a great space being between them:H1732H5674H5676H5975H7218H2022H7350H7227H4725
14And David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who art thou that criest to the king?H1732H7121H5971H74H1121H5369H559H6030H74H74H6030H559H7121H4428
15And David said to Abner, Art not thou a valiant man? and who is like to thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lord the king? for there came one of the people in to destroy the king thy lord.H1732H559H74H376H3478H8104H113H4428H935H259H5971H7843H4428H113
16This thing is not good that thou hast done. As the LORD liveth, ye are worthy to die, because ye have not kept your master, the LORD's anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the cruse of water that was at his bolster.H1697H2896H6213H3068H2416H1121H4194H8104H113H3068H4899H7200H4428H2595H6835H4325H4763
17And Saul knew David's voice, and said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.H7586H5234H1732H6963H559H6963H1121H1732H1732H559H6963H113H4428
18And he said, Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in mine hand?H559H113H7291H310H5650H6213H7451H3027
19Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.H113H4428H8085H1697H5650H3068H5496H7306H4503H1121H120H779H6440H3068H1644H3117H5596H5159H3068H559H3212H5647H312H430
20Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains.H1818H5307H776H6440H3068H4428H3478H3318H1245H259H6550H7291H7124H2022
21Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.H559H7586H2398H7725H1121H1732H7489H5315H3365H5869H3117H5528H7686H7235H3966
22And David answered and said, Behold the king's spear! and let one of the young men come over and fetch it.H1732H6030H559H4428H2595H259H5288H5674H3947
23The LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the LORD's anointed.H3068H7725H376H6666H530H3068H5414H3027H3117H14H7971H3027H3068H4899
24And, behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation.H5315H1431H3117H5869H5315H1431H5869H3068H5337H6869
25Then Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.H7586H559H1732H1288H1121H1732H6213H6213H3201H3201H1732H3212H1870H7586H7725H4725
