David’s Kindness to Mephibosheth

9Now David said, "Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan's sake?"H1732H559H3426H3498H1004H7586H6213H2617H3083 2And there was a servant of the house of Saul whose name was Ziba. So when they had called him to David, the king said to him, "Are you Ziba?" And he said, "At your service!"H1004H7586H5650H8034H6717H7121H1732H4428H559H6717H559H5650 3Then the king said, "Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I may show the kindness of God?" And Ziba said to the king, "There is still a son of Jonathan who is lame in his feet."H4428H559H657H376H1004H7586H6213H2617H430H6717H559H4428H3083H1121H5223H7272 4So the king said to him, "Where is he?" And Ziba said to the king, "Indeed he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lo Debar."H4428H559H375H6717H559H4428H1004H4353H1121H5988H3810 5Then King David sent and brought him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lo Debar.H4428H1732H7971H3947H1004H4353H1121H5988H3810 6Now when Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face and prostrated himself. Then David said, "Mephibosheth?" And he answered, "Here is your servant!"H4648H1121H3083H1121H7586H935H1732H5307H6440H7812H1732H559H4648H559H5650 7So David said to him, "Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually."H1732H559H3372H6213H6213H2617H3083H1H7725H7704H7586H1H398H3899H7979H8548 8Then he bowed himself, and said, "What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?"H7812H559H5650H6437H4191H3611 9And the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, "I have given to your master's son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.H4428H7121H6717H7586H5288H559H5414H113H1121H1961H7586H1004 10"You therefore, and your sons and your servants, shall work the land for him, and you shall bring in the harvest, that your master's son may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth your master's son shall eat bread at my table always." Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.H1121H5650H5647H127H935H113H1121H3899H398H4648H113H1121H398H3899H8548H7979H6717H2568H6240H1121H6242H5650 11Then Ziba said to the king, "According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so will your servant do." "As for Mephibosheth," said the king, "he shall eat at my table like one of the king's sons."H559H6717H4428H113H4428H6680H5650H5650H6213H4648H398H7979H259H4428H1121 12Mephibosheth had a young son whose name was Micha. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth.H4648H6996H1121H8034H4316H4186H1004H6717H5650H4648 13So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king's table. And he was lame in both his feet.H4648H3427H3389H398H8548H4428H7979H6455H8147H7272
