Daniel 10
Amplified Bible Help
10IN THE third year of Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed to Daniel, who was called Belteshazzar. And the word was true and it referred to great tribulation (conflict and wretchedness). And he understood the word and had understanding of the vision.H7969H8141H3566H4428H6539H1697H1540H1840H8034H7121H1095H1697H571H6635H1419H995H1697H998H4758 2In those days I, Daniel, was mourning for three whole weeks.H3117H1840H56H7969H3117H7620 3I ate no pleasant {or} desirable food, nor did any meat or wine come into my mouth; and I did not anoint myself at all for the full three weeks.H398H2532H3899H935H1320H3196H6310H5480H5480H7969H3117H7620H4390 4On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was on the bank of the great river Hiddekel [which is the Tigris],H702H6242H3117H7223H2320H3027H1419H5104H2313 5I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz.H5375H5869H7200H259H376H3847H906H4975H2296H3800H210 6His body also was [a golden luster] like beryl, his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and his feet like glowing burnished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the noise of a multitude [of people or the roaring of the sea].H1472H8658H6440H4758H1300H5869H3940H784H2220H4772H5869H7044H5178H6963H1697H6963H1995 7And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision [of this heavenly being], for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great trembling fell upon them so that they fled to hide themselves.H1840H7200H4759H582H7200H4759H61H1419H2731H5307H1272H2244 8So I was left alone and saw this great vision, and no strength was left in me, for my fresh appearance was turned to pallor; I grew weak {and} faint [with fright].H7604H7200H1419H4759H7604H3581H1935H2015H4889H6113H3581 9Then I heard the sound of his words; and when I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in a deep sleep, with my face [sunk] to the ground.H8085H6963H1697H8085H6963H1697H7290H6440H6440H776 10And behold, a hand touched me, which set me [unsteadily] upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.H3027H5060H5128H1290H3709H3027 11And [the angel] said to me, O Daniel, you greatly beloved man, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright, for to you I am now sent. And while he was saying this word to me, I stood up trembling.H559H1840H376H2532H995H1697H1696H5975H5977H7971H1696H1697H5975H7460 12Then he said to me, Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your mind {and} heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come as a consequence of [and in response to] your words.H559H3372H1840H7223H3117H5414H3820H995H6031H6440H430H1697H8085H935H1697 13But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief [of the celestial] princes, came to help me, for I remained there with the kings of Persia.H8269H4438H6539H5975H259H6242H3117H4317H259H7223H8269H935H5826H3498H681H4428H6539 14Now I have come to make you understand what is to befall your people in the latter days, for the vision is for [many] days yet to come.H935H995H7136H5971H319H3117H2377H3117 15When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and was dumb.H1696H1697H5414H6440H776H481 16And behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke. I said to him who stood before me, O my lord, by reason of the vision sorrows {and} pains have come upon me, and I retain no strength.H1823H1121H120H5060H8193H6605H6310H1696H559H5975H113H4759H6735H2015H6113H3581 17For how can my lord's servant [who is so feeble] talk with this my lord? For now no strength remains in me, nor is there any breath left in me.H1963H3201H5650H113H1696H113H6258H5975H3581H5397H7604 18Then there touched me again one whose appearance was like that of a man, and he strengthened me.H3254H5060H4758H120H2388 19And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you! Be strong, yes, be strong. And when he had spoken to me, I was strengthened and said, Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.H559H376H2532H3372H7965H2388H2388H1696H2388H559H113H1696H2388 20Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the [hostile] prince of Persia; and when I have gone, behold, the [hostile] prince of Greece will come.H559H3045H935H7725H3898H8269H6539H3318H8269H3120H935 21But I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth {or} the Book of Truth. There is no one who holds with me {and} strengthens himself against these [hostile spirit forces] except Michael, your prince [national guardian angel].H61H5046H7559H3791H571H259H2388H4317H8269
