New International Version Help
24If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house,H376H3947H802H1166H4672H2580H5869H4672H1697H6172H3789H5612H3748H5414H3027H7971H1004 2and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man,H3318H1004H1980H312H376 3and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies,H314H376H8130H3789H5612H3748H5414H3027H7971H1004H314H376H4191H3947H802 4then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled. That would be detestable in the eyes of the LORD. Do not bring sin upon the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance.H7223H1167H7971H3201H3947H7725H802H310H2930H8441H6440H3068H776H2398H3068H430H5414H5159 5If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.H376H3947H2319H802H3318H6635H5674H1697H5355H1004H259H8141H8055H802H3947 6Do not take a pair of millstones—not even the upper one—as security for a debt, because that would be taking a man's livelihood as security.H2254H7347H7393H2254H2254H5315H2254 7If a man is caught kidnapping one of his brother Israelites and treats him as a slave or sells him, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you.H376H4672H1589H5315H251H1121H3478H6014H4376H1590H4191H1197H7451H1197H7130 8In cases of leprous diseases be very careful to do exactly as the priests, who are Levites, instruct you. You must follow carefully what I have commanded them.H8104H5061H6883H8104H3966H6213H3548H3881H3384H6680H8104H6213 9Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam along the way after you came out of Egypt.H2142H3068H430H6213H4813H1870H3318H4714 10When you make a loan of any kind to your neighbor, do not go into his house to get what he is offering as a pledge.H5383H7453H3972H4859H935H1004H5670H5667 11Stay outside and let the man to whom you are making the loan bring the pledge out to you.H5975H2351H376H5383H3318H5667H2351 12If the man is poor, do not go to sleep with his pledge in your possession.H376H6041H7901H5667 13Return his cloak to him by sunset so that he may sleep in it. Then he will thank you, and it will be regarded as a righteous act in the sight of the LORD your God.H7725H7725H5667H7725H8121H935H7901H8008H1288H6666H6440H3068H430 14Do not take advantage of a hired man who is poor and needy, whether he is a brother Israelite or an alien living in one of your towns.H6231H7916H6041H34H251H1616H776H8179 15Pay him his wages each day before sunset, because he is poor and is counting on it. Otherwise he may cry to the LORD against you, and you will be guilty of sin.H3117H5414H7939H8121H935H6041H5375H5315H7121H3068H2399 16Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin.H1H4191H1121H1121H4191H1H376H4191H2399 17Do not deprive the alien or the fatherless of justice, or take the cloak of the widow as a pledge.H5186H4941H1616H3490H2254H490H899H2254 18Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and the LORD your God redeemed you from there. That is why I command you to do this.H2142H5650H4714H3068H430H6299H6680H6213H1697 19When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.H7114H7105H7704H7911H6016H7704H7725H3947H1616H3490H490H3068H430H1288H4639H3027 20When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow.H2251H2132H6286H310H1616H3490H490 21When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the alien, the fatherless and the widow.H1219H3754H5953H310H1616H3490H490 22Remember that you were slaves in Egypt. That is why I command you to do this.H2142H5650H776H4714H6680H6213H1697
