The Plague of Locusts

10Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I've hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials in order to perform these signs of mine among them,H3068H559H4872H935H6547H3513H3820H3820H5650H7896H226H7130 2so you may tell your children and your grandchildren how I toyed with the Egyptians and about my miraculous signs that I performed among them, so all of you may know that I am the Lord.H5608H241H1121H1121H1121H5953H4714H226H7760H3045H3068 3Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, "This is what the Lord God of the Hebrews says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me - Let my people go, so they may serve me.H4872H175H935H6547H559H559H3068H430H5680H4970H3985H6031H6440H5971H7971H5647 4But if you refuse to let my people go, tomorrow I'm going to bring locusts into your territory.H3588H3986H5971H7971H4279H935H697H1366 5They'll cover the surface of the land so a person cannot see the ground, and they'll eat what is left for you of the residue from the hail. They'll also eat all your trees that grow in the orchards.H3680H5869H776H3201H7200H776H398H3499H6413H7604H1259H398H6086H6779H7704 6Your houses will be filled along with the houses of all your officials and the houses of all the Egyptians - something that neither your fathers nor your ancestors ever saw from the time they were on earth until now.'" Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh's presence.H4390H1004H1004H5650H1004H4714H1H1H1H7200H3117H127H3117H6437H3318H6547 7Then the officials of Pharaoh said to him, "How long will this man be a snare to us - Let the people go so they may serve the Lord their God! Don't you realize yet that Egypt is about to be destroyed?"H6547H5650H559H4170H582H7971H5647H3068H430H3045H2962H4714H6 8Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh and he said to them, "Go, serve the Lord your God. But exactly who will go?"H4872H175H7725H6547H559H3212H5647H3068H430H1980 9Moses said, "We will go with our young and with our old. We will go with our sons and our daughters, with our sheep and our cattle, because it's a festival to the Lord for us."H4872H559H3212H5288H2205H1121H1323H6629H1241H3212H2282H3068 10Then Pharaoh said to them, "The Lord will certainly be with you if I let you and your little ones go. I know some evil plan is in your mind.H559H3068H7971H2945H7200H7451H6440 11No! Let the men go and serve the Lord, for that is what you were seeking." Then they were driven out from the presence of Pharaoh.H3212H1397H5647H3068H1245H1644H6547H6440 12The Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt to bring the locusts, and they'll come up over the land of Egypt and eat all the vegetation of the land, everything that the hail left."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H776H4714H697H5927H776H4714H398H6212H776H1259H7604 13Moses stretched out his staff over the land of Egypt, and the Lord sent an east wind into the land all that day and throughout the night. When morning came, the east wind brought the locusts.H4872H5186H4294H776H4714H3068H5090H6921H7307H776H3117H3915H1242H6921H7307H5375H697 14The locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled on all the territory of Egypt in great swarms. There had never been locusts like this before nor would there ever be again.H697H5927H776H4714H5117H1366H4714H3966H3515H6440H3651H697H310 15They covered the surface of the entire land so that it was dark. They ate all the vegetation of the land and the fruit from the trees that the hail left. Nothing green was left on the trees or on the vegetation in all the land of Egypt.H3680H5869H776H776H2821H398H6212H776H6529H6086H1259H3498H3498H3418H6086H6212H7704H776H4714 16Pharaoh quickly called Moses and Aaron and said, "I've sinned against the Lord your God and against you.H6547H7121H4872H175H4116H559H2398H3068H430 17Now, please forgive my sin only this time, and pray to the Lord your God that he would at least remove this from me."H5375H2403H6471H6279H3068H430H5493H4194 18Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord.H3318H6547H6279H3068 19Then the Lord brought a very strong west wind that took the locusts and drove them into the Reed Sea. Not one locust remained in all the territory of Egypt.H3068H2015H3966H2389H3220H7307H5375H697H8628H5488H3220H7604H259H697H1366H4714 20But the Lord made Pharaoh's heart stubborn and he would not let the Israelites go.1910H3068H2388H6547H3820H1121H3478H7971

The Plague of Darkness

21Then the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch your hand toward the sky and there will be darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness that one can feel."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H8064H2822H776H4714H2822H4959 22So Moses stretched his hand toward the sky, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.H4872H5186H3027H8064H653H2822H776H4714H7969H3117 23No one could see anyone else, nor could anyone get up from his place for three days. But there was light for all the Israelites in their dwellings.H7200H376H251H6965H376H7969H3117H1121H3478H216H4186 24Pharaoh called Moses and said, "Go serve the Lord, but your flocks and your cattle are to remain. Even your little ones can go with you!"H6547H7121H4872H559H3212H5647H3068H6629H1241H3322H2945H3212 25Moses said, "You must let us have sacrifices and burnt offerings to offer to the Lord our God.H4872H559H5414H3027H2077H5930H6213H3068H430 26And even our livestock must go with us. Not a hoof will be left behind because we will use some of them to serve the Lord our God, and until we get there we won't know what we need to serve the Lord."H4735H3212H6541H7604H3947H5647H3068H430H3045H5647H3068H935 27The Lord made Pharaoh's heart stubborn, and he did not want to let them go.H3068H2388H6547H3820H14H7971 28Then Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me! Watch out that you never see my face again, because on the day you see my face, you will die!"10H6547H559H3212H8104H7200H6440H3254H3117H7200H6440H4191 29Moses said, "Just as you have said, I won't see your face again!"H4872H559H1696H3651H7200H6440H3254
