The Eighth Plague: Locusts

10Now the LORD said to Moses, "Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may show these signs of Mine before him,H3068H559H4872H935H6547H3513H3820H3820H5650H7896H226H7130 2"and that you may tell in the hearing of your son and your son's son the mighty things I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may know that I am the LORD."H5608H241H1121H1121H1121H5953H4714H226H7760H3045H3068 3So Moses and Aaron came in to Pharaoh and said to him, "Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.H4872H175H935H6547H559H559H3068H430H5680H4970H3985H6031H6440H5971H7971H5647 4'Or else, if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.H3588H3986H5971H7971H4279H935H697H1366 5'And they shall cover the face of the earth, so that no one will be able to see the earth; and they shall eat the residue of what is left, which remains to you from the hail, and they shall eat every tree which grows up for you out of the field.H3680H5869H776H3201H7200H776H398H3499H6413H7604H1259H398H6086H6779H7704 6'They shall fill your houses, the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians—which neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.'" And he turned and went out from Pharaoh.H4390H1004H1004H5650H1004H4714H1H1H1H7200H3117H127H3117H6437H3318H6547 7Then Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?"H6547H5650H559H4170H582H7971H5647H3068H430H3045H2962H4714H6 8So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, "Go, serve the LORD your God. Who are the ones that are going?"H4872H175H7725H6547H559H3212H5647H3068H430H1980 9And Moses said, "We will go with our young and our old; with our sons and our daughters, with our flocks and our herds we will go, for we must hold a feast to the LORD."H4872H559H3212H5288H2205H1121H1323H6629H1241H3212H2282H3068 10Then he said to them, "The LORD had better be with you when I let you and your little ones go! Beware, for evil is ahead of you.H559H3068H7971H2945H7200H7451H6440 11"Not so! Go now, you who are men, and serve the LORD, for that is what you desired." And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.H3212H1397H5647H3068H1245H1644H6547H6440 12Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land—all that the hail has left."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H776H4714H697H5927H776H4714H398H6212H776H1259H7604 13So Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind on the land all that day and all that night. When it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.H4872H5186H4294H776H4714H3068H5090H6921H7307H776H3117H3915H1242H6921H7307H5375H697 14And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested on all the territory of Egypt. They were very severe; previously there had been no such locusts as they, nor shall there be such after them.H697H5927H776H4714H5117H1366H4714H3966H3515H6440H3651H697H310 15For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. So there remained nothing green on the trees or on the plants of the field throughout all the land of Egypt.H3680H5869H776H776H2821H398H6212H776H6529H6086H1259H3498H3498H3418H6086H6212H7704H776H4714 16Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and said, "I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.H6547H7121H4872H175H4116H559H2398H3068H430 17"Now therefore, please forgive my sin only this once, and entreat the LORD your God, that He may take away from me this death only."H5375H2403H6471H6279H3068H430H5493H4194 18So he went out from Pharaoh and entreated the LORD.H3318H6547H6279H3068 19And the LORD turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the territory of Egypt.H3068H2015H3966H2389H3220H7307H5375H697H8628H5488H3220H7604H259H697H1366H4714 20But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.H3068H2388H6547H3820H1121H3478H7971

The Ninth Plague: Darkness

21Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H8064H2822H776H4714H2822H4959 22So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.H4872H5186H3027H8064H653H2822H776H4714H7969H3117 23They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.H7200H376H251H6965H376H7969H3117H1121H3478H216H4186 24Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, "Go, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you."H6547H7121H4872H559H3212H5647H3068H6629H1241H3322H2945H3212 25But Moses said, "You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.H4872H559H5414H3027H2077H5930H6213H3068H430 26"Our livestock also shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind. For we must take some of them to serve the LORD our God, and even we do not know with what we must serve the LORD until we arrive there."H4735H3212H6541H7604H3947H5647H3068H430H3045H5647H3068H935 27But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.H3068H2388H6547H3820H14H7971 28Then Pharaoh said to him, "Get away from me! Take heed to yourself and see my face no more! For in the day you see my face you shall die!"H6547H559H3212H8104H7200H6440H3254H3117H7200H6440H4191 29And Moses said, "You have spoken well. I will never see your face again."H4872H559H1696H3651H7200H6440H3254
