Pharaoh in Pursuit

14Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,H3068H1696H4872H559 2"Tell the sons of Israel to turn back and camp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea; you shall camp in front of Baal-zephon, opposite it, by the sea.H1696H1121H3478H7725H2583H6440H6367H4024H3220H6440H1189H5226H2583H3220 3"For Pharaoh will say of the sons of Israel, 'They are wandering aimlessly in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.'H6547H559H1121H3478H943H776H4057H5462 4"Thus I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will chase after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD." And they did so.H2388H6547H3820H7291H310H3513H6547H2428H4714H3045H3068H6213 5When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his servants had a change of heart toward the people, and they said, "What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?"H5046H4428H4714H5971H1272H3824H6547H5650H2015H5971H559H6213H3478H7971H5647 6So he made his chariot ready and took his people with him;H631H7393H3947H5971 7and he took six hundred select chariots, and all the [other] chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them.H3947H8337H3967H977H7393H7393H4714H7991 8And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he chased after the sons of Israel as the sons of Israel were going out boldly.H3068H2388H3820H6547H4428H4714H7291H310H1121H3478H1121H3478H3318H7311H3027 9Then the Egyptians chased after them [with] all the horses [and] chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and they overtook them camping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.H4714H7291H310H5483H7393H6547H6571H2428H5381H2583H3220H6367H6440H1189 10And as Pharaoh drew near, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the LORD.H6547H7126H1121H3478H5375H5869H4714H5265H310H3966H3372H1121H3478H6817H3068 11Then they said to Moses, "Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt with us in this way, bringing us out of Egypt?H559H4872H6913H4714H3947H4191H4057H2063H6213H3318H4714 12"Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, 'Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians'? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness."H1697H1696H4714H559H2308H5647H4714H2896H5647H4714H4191H4057

The Sea Is Divided

13But Moses said to the people, "Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the LORD which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again forever.H4872H559H5971H3372H3320H7200H3444H3068H6213H3117H4714H7200H3117H7200H3254H5704H5769 14"The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent."H3068H3898H2790 15Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the sons of Israel to go forward.H3068H559H4872H6817H1696H1121H3478H5265 16"And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Israel shall go through the midst of the sea on dry land.H7311H4294H5186H3027H3220H1234H1121H3478H935H3004H8432H3220 17"And as for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen.H2388H3820H4714H935H310H3513H6547H2428H7393H6571 18"Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen."H4714H3045H3068H3513H6547H7393H6571 19And the angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them.H4397H430H1980H6440H4264H3478H5265H3212H310H5982H6051H5265H6440H5975H310 20So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud along with the darkness, yet it gave light at night. Thus the one did not come near the other all night.H935H4264H4714H4264H3478H6051H2822H215H3915H7126H2088H3915 21Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD swept the sea [back] by a strong east wind all night, and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided.H4872H5186H3027H3220H3068H3220H3212H5794H6921H7307H3915H7760H3220H2724H4325H1234 22And the sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters [were like] a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.H1121H3478H935H8432H3220H3004H4325H2346H3225H8040 23Then the Egyptians took up the pursuit, and all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots and his horsemen went in after them into the midst of the sea.H4714H7291H935H310H8432H3220H6547H5483H7393H6571 24And it came about at the morning watch, that the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud and brought the army of the Egyptians into confusion.H1242H821H3068H8259H4264H4714H5982H784H6051H2000H4264H4714 25And He caused their chariot wheels to swerve, and He made them drive with difficulty; so the Egyptians said, "Let us flee from Israel, for the LORD is fighting for them against the Egyptians."H5493H4818H212H5090H3517H4714H559H5127H6440H3478H3068H3898H4714 26Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, over their chariots and their horsemen."H3068H559H4872H5186H3027H3220H4325H7725H4714H7393H6571 27So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal state at daybreak, while the Egyptians were fleeing right into it; then the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.H4872H5186H3027H3220H3220H7725H386H1242H6437H4714H5127H7125H3068H5287H4714H8432H3220 28And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even Pharaoh's entire army that had gone into the sea after them; not even one of them remained.H4325H7725H3680H7393H6571H2428H6547H935H3220H310H7604H5704H259 29But the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea, and the waters [were like] a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.H1121H3478H1980H3004H8432H3220H4325H2346H3225H8040 30Thus the LORD saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.H3068H3467H3478H3117H3027H4714H3478H7200H4714H4191H3220H8193 31And when Israel saw the great power which the LORD had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD, and they believed in the LORD and in His servant Moses.H3478H7200H1419H3027H3068H6213H4714H5971H3372H3068H539H3068H5650H4872
