“I Will Stretch Out My Hand”

7THE LORD said to Moses, Behold, I make you as God to Pharaoh [to declare My will and purpose to him]; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.H3068H559H4872H7200H5414H430H6547H175H251H5030 2You shall speak all that I command you, and Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his land.H1696H6680H175H251H1696H6547H7971H1121H3478H776 3And I will make Pharaoh's heart stubborn {and} hard, and multiply My signs, My wonders, {and} miracles in the land of Egypt.H7185H6547H3820H7235H226H4159H776H4714 4But Pharaoh will not listen to you, and I will lay My hand upon Egypt and bring forth My hosts, My people the Israelites, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.H6547H8085H5414H3027H4714H3318H6635H5971H1121H3478H776H4714H1419H8201 5The Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt and bring out the Israelites from among them.H4714H3045H3068H5186H3027H4714H3318H1121H3478H8432 6And Moses and Aaron did so, as the Lord commanded them.H4872H175H6213H3068H6680H6213 7Now Moses was 80 years old and Aaron 83 years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.H4872H8084H8141H1121H175H8084H7969H8141H1121H1696H6547

Aaron’s Rod Becomes a Serpent

8And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,H3068H559H4872H175H559 9When Pharaoh says to you, Prove [your authority] by a miracle, then tell Aaron, Throw your rod down before Pharaoh, that it may become a serpent.H6547H1696H559H5414H4159H559H175H3947H4294H7993H6440H6547H8577 10So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did as the Lord had commanded; Aaron threw down his rod before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent.H4872H175H935H6547H6213H3068H6680H175H7993H4294H6440H6547H6440H5650H8577 11Then Pharaoh called for the wise men [skilled in magic and divination] and the sorcerers (wizards and jugglers). And they also, these magicians of Egypt, did similar things with their enchantments {and} secret arts.H6547H7121H2450H3784H2748H4714H6213H3651H3858 12For they cast down every man his rod and they became serpents; but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.H7993H376H4294H8577H175H4294H1104H4294 13But Pharaoh's heart was hardened {and} stubborn and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.H2388H6547H3820H8085H3068H1696

Water Is Turned to Blood

14Then the Lord said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hard {and} stubborn; he refuses to let the people go.H3068H559H4872H6547H3820H3515H3985H5971H7971 15Go to Pharaoh in the morning; he will be going out to the water; wait for him by the river's brink; and the rod which was turned to a serpent you shall take in your hand.H3212H6547H1242H3318H4325H5324H2975H8193H7125H4294H2015H5175H3947H3027 16And say to him, The Lord, the God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let My people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness; and behold, heretofore you have not listened.H559H3068H430H5680H7971H559H5971H7971H5647H4057H3541H8085 17Thus says the Lord, In this you shall know, recognize, {and} understand that I am the Lord: behold, I will smite with the rod in my hand the waters in the [Nile] River, and they shall be turned to blood.H559H3068H3045H3068H5221H4294H3027H4325H2975H2015H1818 18The fish in the river shall die, the river shall become foul smelling, and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink from it.H1710H2975H4191H2975H887H4714H3811H8354H4325H2975 19And the Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your rod and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their streams, rivers, pools, and ponds of water, that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in containers both of wood and of stone.H3068H559H4872H559H175H3947H4294H5186H3027H4325H4714H5104H2975H98H4723H4325H1818H1818H776H4714H6086H68 20Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded; [Aaron] lifted up the rod and smote the waters in the river in the sight of Pharaoh and his servants, and all the waters in the river were turned to blood.H4872H175H6213H3068H6680H7311H4294H5221H4325H2975H5869H6547H5869H5650H4325H2975H2015H1818 21And the fish in the river died; and the river became foul smelling, and the Egyptians could not drink its water, and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.H1710H2975H4191H2975H887H4714H3201H8354H4325H2975H1818H776H4714 22But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments {and} secret arts; and Pharaoh's heart was made hard {and} obstinate, and he did not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.H2748H4714H6213H3909H6547H3820H2388H8085H3068H1696 23And Pharaoh turned and went into his house; neither did he take even this to heart.H6547H6437H935H1004H7896H3820H2063 24And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink, for they could not drink the water of the [Nile].H4714H2658H5439H2975H4325H8354H3201H8354H4325H2975 25Seven days passed after the Lord had smitten the river.H7651H3117H4390H310H3068H5221H2975
