9"When Pharaoh speaks to you and says, 'Prove yourselves. Perform a miracle,' then tell Aaron, 'Take your staff and throw it down in front of Pharaoh: It will turn into a snake.'"H6547H1696H559H5414H4159H559H175H3947H4294H7993H6440H6547H8577

10Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did what GOD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his servants, and it turned into a snake.H4872H175H935H6547H6213H3068H6680H175H7993H4294H6440H6547H6440H5650H8577

11Pharaoh called in his wise men and sorcerers. The magicians of Egypt did the same thing by their incantations:H6547H7121H2450H3784H2748H4714H6213H3651H3858

13Yet Pharaoh was as stubborn as ever—he wouldn't listen to them, just as GOD had said.H2388H6547H3820H8085H3068H1696

Strike One: Blood

14GOD said to Moses: "Pharaoh is a stubborn man. He refuses to release the people.H3068H559H4872H6547H3820H3515H3985H5971H7971

15First thing in the morning, go and meet Pharaoh as he goes down to the river. At the shore of the Nile take the staff that turned into a snakeH3212H6547H1242H3318H4325H5324H2975H8193H7125H4294H2015H5175H3947H3027

16and say to him, 'GOD, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you with this message, "Release my people so that they can worship me in the wilderness." So far you haven't listened.H559H3068H430H5680H7971H559H5971H7971H5647H4057H3541H8085

17This is how you'll know that I am GOD. I am going to take this staff that I'm holding and strike this Nile River water: The water will turn to blood;H559H3068H3045H3068H5221H4294H3027H4325H2975H2015H1818

19GOD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Take your staff and wave it over the waters of Egypt—over its rivers, its canals, its ponds, all its bodies of water—so that they turn to blood.' 20Moses and Aaron did exactly as GOD commanded them. Aaron raised his staff and hit the water in the Nile with Pharaoh and his servants watching. All the water in the Nile turned into blood.H4872H175H6213H3068H6680H7311H4294H5221H4325H2975H5869H6547H5869H5650H4325H2975H2015H1818
