The Second Plague: Frogs

8Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go in to Pharaoh and tell him: This is what the LORD says: Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.H3068H559H4872H935H6547H559H559H3068H5971H7971H5647
2But if you refuse to let them go, then I will plague all your territory with frogs.H3986H7971H5062H1366H6854
3The Nile will swarm with frogs; they will come up and go into your palace, into your bedroom and on your bed, into the houses of your officials and your people, and into your ovens and kneading bowls.H2975H8317H6854H8317H5927H935H1004H2315H4904H4296H1004H5650H5971H8574H4863
4The frogs will come up on you, your people, and all your officials."H6854H5927H5971H5650
5The LORD then said to Moses, "Tell Aaron: Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, canals, and ponds, and cause the frogs to come up onto the land of Egypt."H3068H559H4872H559H175H5186H3027H4294H5104H2975H98H6854H5927H776H4714
6When Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.H175H5186H3027H4325H4714H6854H5927H3680H776H4714
7But the magicians did the same thing by their occult practices and brought frogs up onto the land of Egypt.H2748H6213H3909H5927H6854H776H4714
8Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Ask the LORD that He remove the frogs from me and my people. Then I will let the people go and they can sacrifice to the LORD."H6547H7121H4872H175H559H6279H3068H5493H6854H5971H5971H7971H2076H3068
9Moses said to Pharaoh, "Make the choice rather than me [by saying] when I should ask for you, your officials, and your people, that the frogs be taken away from you and your houses, and remain only in the Nile."H4872H559H6547H6286H4970H6279H5650H5971H3772H6854H1004H7604H2975
10"Tomorrow," he answered. Moses replied, "As you have said, so you may know there is no one like the LORD our God,H559H4279H559H1697H3045H3068H430
11the frogs will go away from you, your houses, your officials, and your people. The frogs will remain only in the Nile."H6854H5493H1004H5650H5971H7604H2975
12After Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the LORD for help concerning the frogs that He had brought against Pharaoh.H4872H175H3318H6547H4872H6817H3068H1697H6854H7760H6547
13The LORD did as Moses had said: the frogs in the houses, courtyards, and fields died.H3068H6213H1697H4872H6854H4191H1004H2691H7704
14They piled them in countless heaps, and there was a terrible odor in the land.H6651H2563H776H887
15But when Pharaoh saw there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to them, as the LORD had said.H6547H7200H7309H3513H3820H8085H3068H1696

The Third Plague: Gnats

16Then the LORD said to Moses, "Tell Aaron: Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, and it will become gnats throughout the land of Egypt."H3068H559H4872H559H175H5186H4294H5221H6083H776H3654H776H4714
17And they did this. Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff, and when he struck the dust of the earth, gnats were on the people and animals. All the dust of the earth became gnats throughout the land of Egypt.H6213H175H5186H3027H4294H5221H6083H776H3654H120H929H6083H776H3654H776H4714
18The magicians tried to produce gnats using their occult practices, but they could not. The gnats remained on the people and animals.H2748H6213H3909H3318H3654H3201H3654H120H929
19"This is the finger of God," the magicians said to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh's heart hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the LORD had said.H2748H559H6547H676H430H6547H3820H2388H8085H3068H1696

The Fourth Plague: Swarms of Flies

20The LORD said to Moses, "Get up early in the morning and present yourself to Pharaoh when you see him going out to the water. Tell him: This is what the LORD says: Let My people go, so that they may worship Me.H3068H559H4872H7925H1242H3320H6440H6547H3318H4325H559H559H3068H5971H7971H5647
21But if you will not let My people go, then I will send swarms of flies against you, your officials, your people, and your houses. The Egyptians' houses will swarm with flies, and so will the land where they live.H5971H7971H7971H6157H5650H5971H1004H1004H4714H4390H6157H127
22But on that day I will give special treatment to the land of Goshen, where My people are living; no flies will be there. This way you will know that I, the Lord, am in the land.H6395H3117H776H1657H5971H5975H1115H6157H1961H4616H3045H3068H7130H776
23I will make a distinction between My people and your people. This sign will take place tomorrow."H7760H6304H5971H5971H4279H226
24And the LORD did this. Thick swarms of flies went into Pharaoh's palace and his officials' houses. Throughout Egypt the land was ruined because of the swarms of flies.H3068H6213H935H3515H6157H1004H6547H5650H1004H776H4714H776H7843H6440H6157
25Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Go sacrifice to your God within the country."H6547H7121H413H4872H175H559H3212H2076H430H776
26But Moses said, "It would not be right to do that, because what we will sacrifice to the LORD our God is detestable to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice what the Egyptians detest in front of them, won't they stone us?H4872H559H3559H6213H2005H2076H8441H4714H3068H430H2076H8441H4714H5869H5619
27We must go a distance of three days into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God as He instructs us."H3212H7969H3117H1870H4057H2076H3068H430H559
28Pharaoh responded, "I will let you go and sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, but don't go very far. Make an appeal for me."H6547H559H7971H2076H3068H430H4057H3212H7368H7368H6279H1157
29"As soon as I leave you," Moses said, "I will appeal to the Lord, and tomorrow the swarms of flies will depart from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people. But Pharaoh must not act deceptively again by refusing to let the people go and sacrifice to the LORD."H4872H559H3318H6279H3068H6157H5493H6547H5650H5971H4279H7535H6547H2048H3254H1115H5971H7971H2076H3068
30Then Moses left Pharaoh's presence and appealed to the LORD.H4872H3318H6547H6279H3068
31The LORD did as Moses had said: He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people; not one was left.H3068H6213H1697H4872H5493H6157H6547H5650H5971H7604H259
32But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also and did not let the people go.H6547H3513H3820H6471H5971H7971
