The River From the Temple

47The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar.H7725H6607H1004H4325H3318H4670H1004H6921H6440H1004H6921H4325H3381H3233H3802H1004H5045H4196 2He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was flowing from the south side.H3318H1870H8179H6828H5437H1870H2351H8179H1870H6437H6921H6379H4325H3233H3802 3As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep.H376H6957H3027H3318H6921H4058H505H520H5674H4325H4325H657 4He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist.H4058H505H5674H4325H4325H1290H4058H505H5674H4325H4975 5He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross.H4058H505H5158H3201H5674H4325H1342H4325H7813H5158H5674 6He asked me, "Son of man, do you see this?" Then he led me back to the bank of the river.H559H1121H120H7200H3212H7725H8193H5158 7When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river.H7725H8193H5158H3966H7227H6086 8He said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Sea. When it empties into the Sea, the water there becomes fresh.H559H4325H3318H6930H1552H3381H6160H935H3220H3318H3220H4325H7495 9Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.H5315H2416H8317H5158H935H2421H3966H7227H1710H4325H935H7495H2425H5158H935 10Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Great Sea.H1728H5975H5975H5872H5882H4894H2764H1710H4327H1710H1419H3220H3966H7227 11But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt.H1207H1360H7495H5414H4417 12Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing."H5158H8193H5927H6086H3978H5929H5034H6529H8552H1069H2320H4325H3318H4720H6529H3978H5929H8644

The Boundaries of the Land

13This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "These are the boundaries by which you are to divide the land for an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel, with two portions for Joseph.H559H136H3069H1454H1366H5157H776H8147H6240H7626H3478H3130H2256 14You are to divide it equally among them. Because I swore with uplifted hand to give it to your forefathers, this land will become your inheritance.H5157H376H251H5375H3027H5414H1H776H5307H5159 15"This is to be the boundary of the land: "On the north side it will run from the Great Sea by the Hethlon road past Lebo Hamath to Zedad,H1366H776H6828H6285H1419H3220H1870H2855H935H6657 16Berothah and Sibraim (which lies on the border between Damascus and Hamath), as far as Hazer Hatticon, which is on the border of Hauran.H2574H1268H5453H1366H1834H1366H2574H2694H1366H2362 17The boundary will extend from the sea to Hazar Enan, along the northern border of Damascus, with the border of Hamath to the north. This will be the north boundary.H1366H3220H2703H1366H1834H6828H6828H1366H2574H6828H6285 18"On the east side the boundary will run between Hauran and Damascus, along the Jordan between Gilead and the land of Israel, to the eastern sea and as far as Tamar. This will be the east boundary.H6921H6285H4058H996H2362H996H1834H996H1568H996H776H3478H3383H1366H6931H3220H6921H6285 19"On the south side it will run from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribah Kadesh, then along the Wadi of Egypt to the Great Sea. This will be the south boundary.H5045H6285H8486H8559H4325H4808H4809H6946H5158H1419H3220H8486H6285H5045 20"On the west side, the Great Sea will be the boundary to a point opposite Lebo Hamath. This will be the west boundary.H3220H6285H1419H3220H1366H935H5227H2574H3220H6285 21"You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel.H2505H776H7626H3478 22You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.H5307H5159H1616H1481H8432H3205H1121H8432H249H249H1121H3478H5307H5159H8432H7626H3478 23In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance," declares the Sovereign LORD.H7626H1616H1481H5414H5159H5002H136H3069
