The Tower of Babel

11Now the whole earth had one language and the same words.H776H259H8193H259H1697
2And as they migrated from the east, they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there.H5265H6924H4672H1237H776H8152H3427
3And they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly." And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar.H559H376H7453H3051H3835H3843H8313H8316H3843H68H2564H1961H2563
4Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we shall be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."H559H3051H1129H5892H4026H7218H8064H6213H8034H6327H6440H776
5The LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which mortals had built.H3068H3381H7200H5892H4026H1121H120H1129
6And the LORD said, "Look, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.H3068H559H5971H259H259H8193H2490H6213H3808H3605H1219H2161H6213
7Come, let us go down, and confuse their language there, so that they will not understand one another's speech."H3051H3381H1101H8193H834H8085H376H7453H8193
8So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.H3068H6327H8033H6440H776H2308H1129H5892
9Therefore it was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.H8034H7121H894H3068H1101H8193H776H6327H3068H6327H6440H776
