The Wickedness of Humankind

6When people began to multiply on the face of the ground, and daughters were born to them,H120H2490H7231H5921H6440H127H1323H3205 2the sons of God saw that they were fair; and they took wives for themselves of all that they chose.H1121H430H7200H1323H120H2007H2896H3947H802H977 3Then the LORD said, "My spirit shall not abide in mortals forever, for they are flesh; their days shall be one hundred twenty years."H3068H559H7307H5769H1777H120H1571H1320H7683H3117H3967H6242H8141 4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans, who bore children to them. These were the heroes that were of old, warriors of renown.H5303H776H3117H310H3651H834H1121H430H935H1323H120H3205H1992H1368H5769H582H8034 5The LORD saw that the wickedness of humankind was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually.H3068H7200H7451H120H7227H776H3336H4284H3820H7535H7451H3117 6And the LORD was sorry that he had made humankind on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.H5162H3068H6213H120H776H6087H413H3820 7So the LORD said, "I will blot out from the earth the human beings I have created—people together with animals and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."H3068H559H4229H120H1254H6440H127H120H5704H929H7431H5775H8064H5162H6213 8But Noah found favor in the sight of the LORD.H5146H4672H2580H5869H3068

Noah Pleases God

9These are the descendants of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God.H8435H5146H5146H6662H376H8549H1755H5146H1980H430 10And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.H5146H3205H7969H1121H8035H2526H3315 11Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight, and the earth was filled with violence.H776H7843H6440H430H776H4390H2555 12And God saw that the earth was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon the earth.H430H7200H776H7843H1320H7843H1870H776 13And God said to Noah, "I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence because of them; now I am going to destroy them along with the earth.H430H559H5146H7093H1320H935H6440H776H4390H2555H6440H7843H854H776 14Make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.H6213H8392H1613H6086H7064H6213H854H8392H3722H1004H2351H3724 15This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.H6213H753H8392H7969H3967H520H7341H2572H520H6967H7970H520 16Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above; and put the door of the ark in its side; make it with lower, second, and third decks.H6672H6213H8392H520H3615H4605H6607H8392H7760H6654H8482H8145H7992H6213 17For my part, I am going to bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy from under heaven all flesh in which is the breath of life; everything that is on the earth shall die.H2009H589H935H3999H4325H776H7843H1320H7307H2416H8478H8064H3605H776H1478 18But I will establish my covenant with you; and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.H6965H1285H935H413H8392H859H1121H802H1121H802 19And of every living thing, of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female.H2416H1320H8147H935H8392H2421H2145H5347 20Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every kind shall come in to you, to keep them alive.H5775H4327H929H4327H7431H127H4327H8147H935H2421 21Also take with you every kind of food that is eaten, and store it up; and it shall serve as food for you and for them."H3947H3978H398H622H402 22Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.H6213H5146H430H6680H6213
