The Flood Subsides

8But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided.H430H2142H5146H2416H929H8392H430H5674H7307H5674H5921H776H4325H7918 2Also the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained;H4599H8415H699H8064H5534H1653H8064H3607 3and the water receded steadily from the earth, and at the end of one hundred and fifty days the water decreased.H4325H7725H776H1980H7725H7097H3967H2572H3117H4325H2637 4And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat.H8392H5117H7637H2320H6240H7651H3117H2320H2022H780 5And the water decreased steadily until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains became visible.H4325H2637H1980H5704H6224H2320H6224H259H2320H7218H2022H7200 6Then it came about at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made;H7093H705H3117H5146H6605H2474H8392H6213 7and he sent out a raven, and it flew here and there until the water was dried up from the earth.H7971H6158H3318H3318H7725H4325H3001H776 8Then he sent out a dove from him, to see if the water was abated from the face of the land;H7971H3123H7200H4325H7043H6440H127 9but the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, so she returned to him into the ark; for the water was on the surface of all the earth. Then he put out his hand and took her, and brought her into the ark to himself.H3123H4672H4494H3709H7272H7725H8392H4325H6440H776H7971H3027H3947H935H8392 10So he waited yet another seven days; and again he sent out the dove from the ark.H2342H312H7651H3117H3254H7971H3123H8392 11And the dove came to him toward evening; and behold, in her beak was a freshly picked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the water was abated from the earth.H3123H935H6256H6153H6310H2132H5929H2965H5146H3045H4325H7043H776 12Then he waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; but she did not return to him again.H3176H312H7651H3117H7971H3123H7725H3254H5750 13Now it came about in the six hundred and first year, in the first [month,] on the first of the month, the water was dried up from the earth. Then Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the surface of the ground was dried up.H8337H3967H8141H7223H259H2320H4325H2717H776H5146H5493H4372H8392H7200H6440H127H2717 14And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.H8145H2320H7651H6242H3117H2320H776H3001 15Then God spoke to Noah, saying,H430H1696H5146H559 16"Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons' wives with you.H3318H8392H802H1121H1121H802 17"Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth."H3318H2416H1320H5775H929H7431H7430H776H8317H776H6509H7235H776 18So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him.H5146H3318H1121H802H1121H802 19Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by their families from the ark.H2416H7431H5775H3605H7430H776H4940H3318H8392 20Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.H5146H1129H4196H3068H3947H2889H929H2889H5775H5927H5930H4196 21And the LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.H3068H7306H5207H7381H3068H559H413H3820H3254H7043H127H120H5668H3336H120H3820H7451H5271H3254H5221H2416H6213 22"While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night Shall not cease."H776H3117H2233H7105H7120H2527H7019H2779H3117H3915H7673
