The Flood Subsides

8But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.H430H2142H5146H2416H929H8392H430H5674H7307H5674H5921H776H4325H7918 2The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained,H4599H8415H699H8064H5534H1653H8064H3607 3and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of 150 days the waters had abated,H4325H7725H776H1980H7725H7097H3967H2572H3117H4325H2637 4and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.H8392H5117H7637H2320H6240H7651H3117H2320H2022H780 5And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.H4325H2637H1980H5704H6224H2320H6224H259H2320H7218H2022H7200 6At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had madeH7093H705H3117H5146H6605H2474H8392H6213 7and sent forth a raven. It went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth.H7971H6158H3318H3318H7725H4325H3001H776 8Then he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground.H7971H3123H7200H4325H7043H6440H127 9But the dove found no place to set her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him.H3123H4672H4494H3709H7272H7725H8392H4325H6440H776H7971H3027H3947H935H8392 10He waited another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.H2342H312H7651H3117H3254H7971H3123H8392 11And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth.H3123H935H6256H6153H6310H2132H5929H2965H5146H3045H4325H7043H776 12Then he waited another seven days and sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him anymore.H3176H312H7651H3117H7971H3123H7725H3254H5750 13In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry.H8337H3967H8141H7223H259H2320H4325H2717H776H5146H5493H4372H8392H7200H6440H127H2717 14In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out.H8145H2320H7651H6242H3117H2320H776H3001 15Then God said to Noah,H430H1696H5146H559 16"Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons' wives with you.H3318H8392H802H1121H1121H802 17Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth."H3318H2416H1320H5775H929H7431H7430H776H8317H776H6509H7235H776 18So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him.H5146H3318H1121H802H1121H802 19Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark.H2416H7431H5775H3605H7430H776H4940H3318H8392

God’s Covenant with Noah

20Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.H5146H1129H4196H3068H3947H2889H929H2889H5775H5927H5930H4196 21And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, "I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.H3068H7306H5207H7381H3068H559H413H3820H3254H7043H127H120H5668H3336H120H3820H7451H5271H3254H5221H2416H6213 22While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease."H776H3117H2233H7105H7120H2527H7019H2779H3117H3915H7673
