Hebrews 2
Amplified Bible Help
2SINCE ALL this is true, we ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way we drift past [them] {and} slip away.G1223G5124G2248G1163G4056G4337G191G3379G3901 2For if the message given through angels [the Law spoken by them to Moses] was authentic {and} proved sure, and every violation and disobedience received an appropriate (just and adequate) penalty,G1063G1487G3056G2980G1223G32G1096G949G2532G3956G3847G2532G3876G2983G1738G3405 3How shall we escape [appropriate retribution] if we neglect {and} refuse to pay attention to such a great salvation [as is now offered to us, letting it drift past us forever]? For it was declared at first by the Lord [Himself], and it was confirmed to us {and} proved to be real {and} genuine by those who personally heard [Him speak].G4459G2249G1628G272G5082G4991G3748G746G2983G2980G1223G2962G950G1519G2248G5259G191 4[Besides this evidence] it was also established {and} plainly endorsed by God, Who showed His approval of it by signs and wonders and various miraculous manifestations of [His] power and by imparting the gifts of the Holy Spirit [to the believers] according to His own will.G2316G4901G5037G4592G2532G5059G2532G4164G1411G2532G3311G40G4151G2596G846G2308 5For it was not to angels that God subjected the habitable world of the future, of which we are speaking.G1063G32G5293G3756G5293G3625G3195G4012G3739G2980 6It has been solemnly {and} earnestly said in a certain place, What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You graciously {and} helpfully care for {and} visit {and} look after him?G1161G5100G4225G1263G3004G5101G2076G444G3754G3403G846G2228G5207G444G3754G1980G846 7For some little time You have ranked him lower than {and} inferior to the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor {and set him over the works of Your hands,}G1642G846G1024G5100G1642G3844G32G4737G846G1391G2532G5092G2532G2525G846G1909G2041G4675G5495 8For You have put everything in subjection under his feet. Now in putting everything in subjection to man, He left nothing outside [of man's] control. But at present we do not yet see all things subjected to him [man].G5293G3956G5293G5270G846G4228G1063G1722G5293G3956G5293G846G863G3762G506G846G1161G3568G3708G3768G3956G5293G846 9But we are able to see Jesus, Who was ranked lower than the angels for a little while, crowned with glory and honor because of His having suffered death, in order that by the grace (unmerited favor) of God [to us sinners] He might experience death for every individual person.G1161G991G2424G3588G1642G1024G5100G1642G3844G32G1223G3804G2288G4737G1391G2532G5092G3704G1089G5485G2316G1089G2288G5228G3956 10For it was an act worthy [of God] {and} fitting [to the divine nature] that He, for Whose sake and by Whom all things have their existence, in bringing many sons into glory, should make the Pioneer of their salvation perfect [should bring to maturity the human experience necessary to be perfectly equipped for His office as High Priest] through suffering.G1063G4241G846G1223G3739G3956G2532G1223G3739G3956G71G4183G5207G1519G1391G5048G747G846G4991G5048G1223G3804 11For both He Who sanctifies [making men holy] and those who are sanctified all have one [Father]. For this reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren;G1063G5037G37G2532G37G3956G1537G1520G1223G3739G156G1870G3756G1870G2564G846G80 12For He says, I will declare Your [the Father's] name to My brethren; in the midst of the [worshiping] congregation I will sing hymns of praise to You.G3004G518G4675G3686G3450G80G1722G3319G1577G5214G4571 13And again He says, My trust {and} assured reliance {and} confident hope shall be fixed in Him. And yet again, Here I am, I and the children whom God has given Me.G2532G3825G1473G2071G3982G1909G846G2532G3825G2400G1473G2532G3813G3739G2316G1325G3427 14Since, therefore, [these His] children share in flesh and blood [in the physical nature of human beings], He [Himself] in a similar manner partook of the same [nature], that by [going through] death He might bring to nought {and} make of no effect him who had the power of death--that is, the devil--G1893G3767G3813G2841G4561G2532G129G3348G2532G846G3898G3348G846G2443G1223G2288G2673G2192G2904G2288G5123G1228 15And also that He might deliver {and} completely set free all those who through the [haunting] fear of death were held in bondage throughout the whole course of their lives.G2532G525G5128G3745G1223G5401G2288G2258G3956G2198G1777G1397 16For, as we all know, He [Christ] did not take hold of angels [the fallen angels, to give them a helping and delivering hand], but He did take hold of [the fallen] descendants of Abraham [to reach out to them a helping and delivering hand].G1063G1222G1949G3756G1949G32G235G1949G4690G11 17So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement {and} propitiation for the people's sins.G3606G2596G3956G3784G3666G80G2443G1096G1655G2532G4103G749G4314G2316G1519G2433G266G2992 18For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted {and} tested {and} tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].G1063G1722G3739G3958G846G3958G3985G1410G997G3985
