God’s Universal Reign

2The word which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.H1697H3470H1121H531H2372H3063H3389 2Now it will come about that In the last days, The mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it.H319H3117H2022H3068H1004H3559H7218H2022H5375H1389H1471H5102 3And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways, And that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.H7227H5971H1980H559H3212H5927H2022H3068H1004H430H3290H3384H1870H3212H734H6726H3318H8451H1697H3068H3389 4And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war.H8199H1471H3198H7227H5971H3807H2719H855H2595H4211H1471H5375H2719H1471H3925H4421 5Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.H1004H3290H3212H3212H216H3068 6For Thou hast abandoned Thy people, the house of Jacob, Because they are filled [with influences] from the east, And [they are] soothsayers like the Philistines, And they strike [bargains] with the children of foreigners.H5203H5971H1004H3290H4390H6924H6049H6430H5606H3206H5237 7Their land has also been filled with silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures; Their land has also been filled with horses, And there is no end to their chariots.H776H4390H3701H2091H7097H214H776H4390H5483H7097H4818 8Their land has also been filled with idols; They worship the work of their hands, That which their fingers have made.H776H4390H457H7812H4639H3027H676H6213 9So the [common] man has been humbled, And the man [of importance] has been abased, But do not forgive them.H120H7817H376H8213H5375 10Enter the rock and hide in the dust From the terror of the LORD and from the splendor of His majesty.H935H6697H2934H6083H6440H6343H3068H1926H1347 11The proud look of man will be abased, And the loftiness of man will be humbled, And the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.H1365H5869H120H8213H7312H582H7817H3068H7682H3117

A Day of Reckoning Coming

12For the LORD of hosts will have a day [of reckoning] Against everyone who is proud and lofty, And against everyone who is lifted up, That he may be abased.H3117H3068H6635H1343H7311H5375H8213 13And [it will be] against all the cedars of Lebanon that are lofty and lifted up, Against all the oaks of Bashan,H730H3844H7311H5375H437H1316 14Against all the lofty mountains, Against all the hills that are lifted up,H7311H2022H1389H5375 15Against every high tower, Against every fortified wall,H1364H4026H1219H2346 16Against all the ships of Tarshish, And against all the beautiful craft.H591H8659H2532H7914 17And the pride of man will be humbled, And the loftiness of men will be abased, And the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.H1365H120H7817H7312H582H8213H3068H7682H3117 18But the idols will completely vanish.H457H3632H2498 19And [men] will go into caves of the rocks, And into holes of the ground Before the terror of the LORD, And before the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to make the earth tremble.H935H4631H6697H4247H6083H6440H6343H3068H1926H1347H6965H6206H776 20In that day men will cast away to the moles and the bats Their idols of silver and their idols of gold, Which they made for themselves to worship,H3117H120H7993H457H3701H457H2091H6213H7812H2661H6512H5847 21In order to go into the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs, Before the terror of the LORD and the splendor of His majesty, When He arises to make the earth tremble.H935H5366H6697H5585H5553H6440H6343H3068H1926H1347H6965H6206H776 22Stop regarding man, whose breath [of life] is in his nostrils; For why should he be esteemed?H2308H120H5397H639H2803
