The Judgment of God

33Woe to you, O destroyer, While you were not destroyed; And he who is treacherous, while [others] did not deal treacherously with him. As soon as you shall finish destroying, you shall be destroyed; As soon as you shall cease to deal treacherously, [others] shall deal treacherously with you.H1945H7703H7703H898H898H8552H7703H7703H5239H898H898 2O LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for Thee. Be Thou their strength every morning, Our salvation also in the time of distress.H3068H2603H6960H2220H1242H3444H6256H6869 3At the sound of the tumult peoples flee; At the lifting up of Thyself nations disperse.H6963H1995H5971H5074H7427H1471H5310 4And your spoil is gathered [as] the caterpillar gathers; As locusts rushing about, men rush about on it.H7998H622H625H2625H4944H1357H8264 5The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.H3068H7682H7931H4791H4390H6726H4941H6666 6And He shall be the stability of your times, A wealth of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; The fear of the LORD is his treasure.H2451H1847H530H6256H2633H3444H3374H3068H214 7Behold, their brave men cry in the streets, The ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.H691H6817H2351H4397H7965H1058H4751 8The highways are desolate, the traveler has ceased, He has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, He has no regard for man.H4546H8074H5674H734H7673H6565H1285H3988H5892H2803H582 9The land mourns and pines away, Lebanon is shamed and withers; Sharon is like a desert plain, And Bashan and Carmel lose [their foliage.]H776H56H535H3844H2659H7060H8289H6160H1316H3760H5287 10"Now I will arise," says the LORD, "Now I will be exalted, now I will be lifted up.H6965H559H3068H7426H5375 11"You have conceived chaff, you will give birth to stubble; My breath will consume you like a fire.H2029H2842H3205H7179H7307H784H398 12"And the peoples will be burned to lime, Like cut thorns which are burned in the fire.H5971H4955H7875H6975H3683H3341H784 13"You who are far away, hear what I have done; And you who are near, acknowledge My might."H8085H7350H6213H7138H3045H1369 14Sinners in Zion are terrified; Trembling has seized the godless. " Who among us can live with the consuming fire? Who among us can live with continual burning? "H2400H6726H6342H7461H270H2611H1481H398H784H1481H5769H4168 15He who walks righteously, and speaks with sincerity, He who rejects unjust gain, And shakes his hands so that they hold no bribe; He who stops his ears from hearing about bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from looking upon evil;H1980H6666H1696H4339H3988H1215H4642H5287H3709H8551H7810H331H241H8085H1818H6105H5869H7200H7451 16He will dwell on the heights; His refuge will be the impregnable rock; His bread will be given [him;] His water will be sure.H7931H4791H4869H4679H5553H3899H5414H4325H539 17Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will behold a far-distant land.H5869H2372H4428H3308H7200H776H4801 18Your heart will meditate on terror: "Where is he who counts? Where is he who weighs? Where is he who counts the towers?"H3820H1897H367H5608H8254H5608H4026 19You will no longer see a fierce people, A people of unintelligible speech which no one comprehends, Of a stammering tongue which no one understands.H7200H3267H5971H5971H6012H8193H8085H3932H3956H998 20Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes shall see Jerusalem an undisturbed habitation, A tent which shall not be folded, Its stakes shall never be pulled up Nor any of its cords be torn apart.H2372H6726H7151H4150H5869H7200H3389H7600H5116H168H6813H3489H5331H5265H2256H5423 21But there the majestic [One,] the LORD, shall be for us A place of rivers [and] wide canals, On which no boat with oars shall go, And on which no mighty ship shall pass—H117H3068H4725H7342H3027H5104H2975H3212H1077H590H7885H117H6716H5674 22For the LORD is our judge, The LORD is our lawgiver, The LORD is our king; He will save us—H3068H8199H3068H2710H3068H4428H3467 23Your tackle hangs slack; It cannot hold the base of its mast firmly, Nor spread out the sail. Then the prey of an abundant spoil will be divided; The lame will take the plunder.H2256H5203H3653H2388H8650H6566H5251H5706H4766H7998H2505H6455H962H957 24And no resident will say, "I am sick"; The people who dwell there will be forgiven [their] iniquity.H7934H559H2470H5971H3427H5375H5771
