A Prophecy of Deliverance from Foes

33Ah, you destroyer, who yourself have not been destroyed; you treacherous one, with whom no one has dealt treacherously! When you have ceased to destroy, you will be destroyed; and when you have stopped dealing treacherously, you will be dealt with treacherously.H1945H7703H7703H898H898H8552H7703H7703H5239H898H898 2O LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.H3068H2603H6960H2220H1242H3444H6256H6869 3At the sound of tumult, peoples fled; before your majesty, nations scattered.H6963H1995H5971H5074H7427H1471H5310 4Spoil was gathered as the caterpillar gathers; as locusts leap, they leaped upon it.H7998H622H625H2625H4944H1357H8264 5The LORD is exalted, he dwells on high; he filled Zion with justice and righteousness;H3068H7682H7931H4791H4390H6726H4941H6666 6he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is Zion's treasure.H2451H1847H530H6256H2633H3444H3374H3068H214 7Listen! the valiant cry in the streets; the envoys of peace weep bitterly.H691H6817H2351H4397H7965H1058H4751 8The highways are deserted, travelers have quit the road. The treaty is broken, its oaths are despised, its obligation is disregarded.H4546H8074H5674H734H7673H6565H1285H3988H5892H2803H582 9The land mourns and languishes; Lebanon is confounded and withers away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.H776H56H535H3844H2659H7060H8289H6160H1316H3760H5287 10"Now I will arise," says the LORD, "now I will lift myself up; now I will be exalted.H6965H559H3068H7426H5375 11You conceive chaff, you bring forth stubble; your breath is a fire that will consume you.H2029H2842H3205H7179H7307H784H398 12And the peoples will be as if burned to lime, like thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire."H5971H4955H7875H6975H3683H3341H784 13Hear, you who are far away, what I have done; and you who are near, acknowledge my might.H8085H7350H6213H7138H3045H1369 14The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling has seized the godless: "Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting flames?"H2400H6726H6342H7461H270H2611H1481H398H784H1481H5769H4168 15Those who walk righteously and speak uprightly, who despise the gain of oppression, who wave away a bribe instead of accepting it, who stop their ears from hearing of bloodshed and shut their eyes from looking on evil,H1980H6666H1696H4339H3988H1215H4642H5287H3709H8551H7810H331H241H8085H1818H6105H5869H7200H7451 16they will live on the heights; their refuge will be the fortresses of rocks; their food will be supplied, their water assured.H7931H4791H4869H4679H5553H3899H5414H4325H539

The Land of the Majestic King

17Your eyes will see the king in his beauty; they will behold a land that stretches far away.H5869H2372H4428H3308H7200H776H4801 18Your mind will muse on the terror: "Where is the one who counted? Where is the one who weighed the tribute? Where is the one who counted the towers?"H3820H1897H367H5608H8254H5608H4026 19No longer will you see the insolent people, the people of an obscure speech that you cannot comprehend, stammering in a language that you cannot understand.H7200H3267H5971H5971H6012H8193H8085H3932H3956H998 20Look on Zion, the city of our appointed festivals! Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, an immovable tent, whose stakes will never be pulled up, and none of whose ropes will be broken.H2372H6726H7151H4150H5869H7200H3389H7600H5116H168H6813H3489H5331H5265H2256H5423 21But there the LORD in majesty will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, where no galley with oars can go, nor stately ship can pass.H117H3068H4725H7342H3027H5104H2975H3212H1077H590H7885H117H6716H5674 22For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our ruler, the LORD is our king; he will save us.H3068H8199H3068H2710H3068H4428H3467 23Your rigging hangs loose; it cannot hold the mast firm in its place, or keep the sail spread out. Then prey and spoil in abundance will be divided; even the lame will fall to plundering.H2256H5203H3653H2388H8650H6566H5251H5706H4766H7998H2505H6455H962H957 24And no inhabitant will say, "I am sick"; the people who live there will be forgiven their iniquity.H7934H559H2470H5971H3427H5375H5771
