Cyrus, God’s Instrument

45Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him and strip kings of their robes, to open doors before him—and the gates shall not be closed:H559H3068H4899H3566H3225H2388H7286H1471H6440H6605H4975H4428H6605H6440H1817H8179H5462 2I will go before you and level the mountains, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron,H3212H6440H3474H1921H3474H3474H7665H1817H5154H1438H1280H1270 3I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches hidden in secret places, so that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who call you by your name.H5414H214H2822H4301H4565H3045H3068H7121H8034H430H3478 4For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I surname you, though you do not know me.H3290H5650H3478H972H7121H8034H3655H3045 5I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides me there is no God. I arm you, though you do not know me,H3068H430H2108H247H3045 6so that they may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is no one besides me; I am the LORD, and there is no other.H3045H4217H8121H4628H657H1107H3068 7I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe; I the LORD do all these things.H3335H216H1254H2822H6213H7965H1254H7451H3068H6213 8Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the skies rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation may spring up, and let it cause righteousness to sprout up also; I the LORD have created it.H7491H8064H4605H7834H5140H6664H776H6605H6509H3468H6666H6779H3162H3068H1254 9Woe to you who strive with your Maker, earthen vessels with the potter! Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, "What are you making"? or "Your work has no handles"?H1945H7378H3335H2789H2789H127H2563H559H3335H6213H6467H3027 10Woe to anyone who says to a father, "What are you begetting?" or to a woman, "With what are you in labor?"H1945H559H1H3205H802H2342 11Thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Will you question me about my children, or command me concerning the work of my hands?H559H3068H6918H3478H3335H7592H857H1121H6467H3027H6680 12I made the earth, and created humankind upon it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.H6213H776H1254H120H3027H5186H8064H6635H6680 13I have aroused Cyrus in righteousness, and I will make all his paths straight; he shall build my city and set my exiles free, not for price or reward, says the LORD of hosts.H5782H6664H3474H1870H1129H5892H7971H1546H4242H7810H559H3068H6635 14Thus says the LORD: The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and the Sabeans, tall of stature, shall come over to you and be yours, they shall follow you; they shall come over in chains and bow down to you. They will make supplication to you, saying, "God is with you alone, and there is no other; there is no god besides him."H559H3068H3018H4714H5505H3568H5436H582H4060H5674H3212H310H2131H5674H7812H6419H410H657H430 15Truly, you are a God who hides himself, O God of Israel, the Savior.H403H410H5641H430H3478H3467 16All of them are put to shame and confounded, the makers of idols go in confusion together.H954H3637H1980H3639H3162H2796H6736 17But Israel is saved by the LORD with everlasting salvation; you shall not be put to shame or confounded to all eternity.H3478H3467H3068H5769H8668H954H3637H5769H5703 18For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it a chaos, he formed it to be inhabited!): I am the LORD, and there is no other.H559H3068H1254H8064H430H3335H776H6213H3559H1254H8414H3335H3427H3068 19I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, "Seek me in chaos." I the LORD speak the truth, I declare what is right.H1696H5643H2822H4725H776H559H2233H3290H1245H8414H3068H1696H6664H5046H4339

Idols Cannot Save Babylon

20Assemble yourselves and come together, draw near, you survivors of the nations! They have no knowledge—those who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save.H6908H935H5066H3162H6412H1471H3045H5375H6086H6459H6419H410H3467 21Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.H5046H5066H3289H3162H8085H6924H5046H3068H430H1107H6662H410H3467H369H2108 22Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.H6437H3467H657H776H410 23By myself I have sworn, from my mouth has gone forth in righteousness a word that shall not return: "To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear."H7650H1697H3318H6310H6666H7725H1290H3766H3956H7650 24Only in the LORD, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; all who were incensed against him shall come to him and be ashamed.H559H3068H6666H5797H935H2734H954 25In the LORD all the offspring of Israel shall triumph and glory.H3068H2233H3478H6663H1984
