Healing after Punishment

33The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still confined in the court of the guard:H1697H3068H3414H8145H6113H2691H4307H559 2Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it—the LORD is his name:H559H3068H6213H3068H3335H3559H3068H8034 3Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.H7121H6030H5046H1419H1219H3045 4For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and the houses of the kings of Judah that were torn down to make a defense against the siege-ramps and before the sword:H559H3068H430H3478H1004H5892H1004H4428H3063H5422H5550H2719 5The Chaldeans are coming in to fight and to fill them with the dead bodies of those whom I shall strike down in my anger and my wrath, for I have hidden my face from this city because of all their wickedness.H935H3898H3778H4390H6297H120H5221H639H2534H7451H5641H6440H5892 6I am going to bring it recovery and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.H5927H724H4832H7495H1540H6283H7965H571 7I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel, and rebuild them as they were at first.H7622H3063H7622H3478H7725H1129H7223 8I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me.H2891H5771H2398H5545H5771H2398H6586 9And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them; they shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.H8034H8342H8416H8597H1471H776H8085H2896H6213H6342H7264H2896H7965H6213 10Thus says the LORD: In this place of which you say, "It is a waste without human beings or animals," in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without inhabitants, human or animal, there shall once more be heardH559H3068H8085H4725H559H2720H120H929H5892H3063H2351H3389H8074H120H3427H929 11the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring thank offerings to the house of the LORD: "Give thanks to the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" For I will restore the fortunes of the land as at first, says the LORD.H6963H8342H6963H8057H6963H2860H6963H3618H6963H559H3034H3068H6635H3068H2896H2617H5769H935H8426H1004H3068H7725H7622H776H7223H559H3068 12Thus says the LORD of hosts: In this place that is waste, without human beings or animals, and in all its towns there shall again be pasture for shepherds resting their flocks.H559H3068H6635H4725H2720H120H929H5892H5116H7462H6629H7257 13In the towns of the hill country, of the Shephelah, and of the Negeb, in the land of Benjamin, the places around Jerusalem, and in the towns of Judah, flocks shall again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD.H5892H2022H5892H8219H5892H5045H776H1144H5439H3389H5892H3063H6629H5674H3027H4487H559H3068

The Righteous Branch and the Covenant with David

14The days are surely coming, says the LORD, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.H3117H935H5002H3068H6965H2896H1697H1696H1004H3478H1004H3063 15In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.H3117H6256H6780H6666H6779H1732H6213H4941H6666H776 16In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this is the name by which it will be called: "The LORD is our righteousness."H3117H3063H3467H3389H7931H983H7121H3072 17For thus says the LORD: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,H559H3068H1732H3808H3772H376H3427H3678H1004H3478 18and the levitical priests shall never lack a man in my presence to offer burnt offerings, to make grain offerings, and to make sacrifices for all time.H3548H3881H3772H376H6440H5927H5930H6999H4503H6213H2077H3117 19The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:H1697H3068H3414H559 20Thus says the LORD: If any of you could break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night would not come at their appointed time,H559H3068H6565H1285H3117H1285H3915H3119H3915H6256 21only then could my covenant with my servant David be broken, so that he would not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with my ministers the Levites.H1285H6565H1732H5650H1121H4427H3678H3881H3548H8334 22Just as the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will increase the offspring of my servant David, and the Levites who minister to me.H6635H8064H5608H2344H3220H4058H7235H2233H1732H5650H3881H8334 23The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:H1697H3068H3414H559 24Have you not observed how these people say, "The two families that the LORD chose have been rejected by him," and how they hold my people in such contempt that they no longer regard them as a nation?H7200H5971H1696H559H8147H4940H3068H977H3988H5006H5971H1471H6440 25Thus says the LORD: Only if I had not established my covenant with day and night and the ordinances of heaven and earth,H559H3068H1285H3119H3915H7760H2708H8064H776 26would I reject the offspring of Jacob and of my servant David and not choose any of his descendants as rulers over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes, and will have mercy upon them.H1571H3988H2233H3290H1732H5650H3947H2233H4910H2233H85H3446H3290H7622H7725H7725H7355
