Judas Betrays Jesus

18HAVING SAID these things, Jesus went out with His disciples beyond (across) the winter torrent of the Kidron [in the ravine]. There was a garden there, which He and His disciples entered.G2424G2036G5023G1831G4862G846G3101G4008G5493G2748G3699G2258G2779G1519G3739G846G1525G2532G846G3101

4Then Jesus, knowing all that was about to befall Him, went out to them and said, Whom are you seeking? [Whom do you want?]G2424G3767G1492G3956G2064G1909G846G1831G2036G846G5101G2212

12So the troops and their captain and the guards (attendants) of the Jews seized Jesus and bound Him,G3767G4686G2532G5506G2532G5257G2453G4815G2424G2532G1210G846

20Jesus answered him, I have spoken openly to the world. 23Jesus replied, If I have said anything wrong [if I have spoken abusively, if there was evil in what I said] tell what was wrong with it. But if I spoke rightly {and} properly, why do you strike Me?G2424G611G846G1487G2980G2560G3140G4012G2556G1161G1487G2573G5101G1194G3165

24Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.G452G649G846G1210G4314G2533G749

Peter’s Denial of Jesus

25But Simon Peter [still] was standing and was warming himself. They said to him, You are not also one of His disciples, are you? He denied it and said, I am not!G1161G4613G4074G2258G2476G2532G2328G2036G3767G846G1488G3361G4771G2532G1537G846G3101G1565G720G2532G2036G1510G3756

26One of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter cut off, said, Did I not see you in the garden with Him?G1520G1537G1401G749G5607G4773G3739G5621G4074G609G3004G1492G3756G1473G1492G4571G1722G2779G3326G846

27And again Peter denied it. And immediately a rooster crowed.G4074G3767G720G3825G2532G2112G220G5455

28Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium (judgment hall, governor's palace). And it was early. They themselves did not enter the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled (become ceremonially unclean), but might be fit to eat the Passover [supper].G3767G71G2424G575G2533G1519G4232G1161G2258G4405G2532G846G1525G3756G1519G4232G3363G3392G235G2443G5315G3957

34Jesus replied, Are you saying this of yourself [on your own initiative], or have others told you about Me?G2424G611G846G3004G4771G5124G575G1438G2228G243G2036G4671G4012G1700

35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your [own] people {and} nation and their chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?G4091G611G3385G1510G1473G2453G4674G1484G2532G749G3860G4571G1698G5101G4160

36Jesus answered, My kingdom (kingship, royal power) belongs not to this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My followers would have been fighting to keep Me from being handed over to the Jews.
