John 21
Holman Christian Standard Bible Help
21After this, Jesus revealed Himself again to His disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed Himself in this way:G3326G5023G2424G5319G1438G3825G3101G1909G2281G5085G1161G3779G5319
2Simon Peter, Thomas (called "Twin"), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee's sons, and two others of His disciples were together.G2258G3674G4613G4074G2532G2381G3004G1324G2532G3482G575G2580G1056G2532G3588G2199G2532G1417G243G1537G846G3101
3"I'm going fishing," Simon Peter said to them. "We're coming with you," they told him. They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.G4613G4074G3004G846G5217G232G3004G846G2249G2532G2064G4862G4671G1831G2532G305G1519G4143G2117G2532G1722G1565G3571G4084G3762
4When daybreak came, Jesus stood on the shore. However, the disciples did not know it was Jesus.G1161G4405G1096G2235G1096G2424G2476G1519G123G3305G3101G1492G3756G3754G2076G2424
5"Men," Jesus called to them, "you don't have any fish, do you?" "No," they answered.G3767G2424G3004G846G3813G2192G3387G4371G611G846G3756
6"Cast the net on the right side of the boat," He told them, "and you'll find some." So they did, and they were unable to haul it in because of the large number of fish.G1161G2036G846G906G1350G1519G1188G3313G4143G2532G2147G906G3767G2532G3765G2480G3765G2480G1670G846G575G4128G2486
7Therefore the disciple, the one Jesus loved, said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tied his outer garment around him (for he was stripped) and plunged into the sea.G3767G1565G3101G3739G2424G25G3004G4074G2076G2962G3767G4613G4074G191G3754G2076G2962G1241G1903G1063G2258G1131G2532G906G1438G1519G2281
8But since they were not far from land (about 100 yards away), the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish.G1161G243G3101G2064G4142G1063G2258G3756G3112G575G1093G235G5613G575G1250G4083G4951G1350G2486
9When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire there, with fish lying on it, and bread.G5613G3767G576G1519G1093G991G439G2532G3795G2749G1945G2532G740
10"Bring some of the fish you've just caught," Jesus told them.G2424G3004G846G5342G575G3795G3739G4084G3568G4084
11So Simon Peter got up and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish— 153 of them. Even though there were so many, the net was not torn.G4613G4074G305G2532G1670G1350G1909G1093G3324G3173G2486G1540G4004G5140G2532G5118G5607G3756G1350G4977
12"Come and have breakfast," Jesus told them. None of the disciples dared ask Him, "Who are You?" because they knew it was the Lord.G2424G3004G846G1205G709G1161G3762G3101G5111G1833G846G5101G1488G4771G1492G3754G2076G2962
13Jesus came, took the bread, and gave it to them. He did the same with the fish.G2424G3767G2064G2532G2983G740G2532G1325G846G2532G3795G3668
14This was now the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples after He was raised from the dead.G5124G5319G2235G5154G2424G5319G846G3101G1453G1537G3498
15When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he said to Him, "You know that I love You." "Feed My lambs," He told him.G3767G3753G709G2424G3004G4613G4074G4613G2495G25G3165G4119G5130G3004G846G3483G2962G4771G1492G3754G5368G4571G3004G846G1006G3450G721
16A second time He asked him, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" "Yes, Lord," he said to Him, "You know that I love You." "Shepherd My sheep," He told him.G3004G846G3825G1208G4613G2495G25G3165G3004G846G3483G2962G4771G1492G3754G5368G4571G3004G846G4165G3450G4263
17He asked him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved that He asked him the third time, "Do you love Me?" He said, "Lord, You know everything! You know that I love You." "Feed My sheep," Jesus said.G3004G846G5154G4613G2495G5368G3165G4074G3076G3754G2036G846G5154G5368G3165G2532G2036G846G2962G4771G1492G3956G4771G1097G3754G5368G4571G2424G3004G846G1006G3450G4263
18"I assure you: When you were young, you would tie your belt and walk wherever you wanted. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will tie you and carry you where you don't want to go."G281G281G3004G4671G3753G2258G3501G2224G4572G2532G4043G3699G2309G1161G3752G1095G1614G4675G5495G2532G243G2224G4571G2532G5342G3699G2309G3756
19He said this to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. After saying this, He told him, "Follow Me!"G1161G5124G2036G4591G4169G2288G1392G2316G2532G2036G5124G3004G846G190G3427
20So Peter turned around and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them. [That disciple] was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and asked, "Lord, who is the one that's going to betray You?"G1161G4074G1994G991G3101G3739G2424G25G190G3739G2532G377G1909G846G4738G1722G1173G2532G2036G2962G5101G2076G3860G4571
21When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord— what about him?"G4074G1492G5126G3004G2424G2962G1161G5101G3778
22"If I want him to remain until I come," Jesus answered, "what is that to you? As for you, follow Me."G2424G3004G846G1437G2309G846G3306G2193G2064G5101G4314G4571G190G4771G3427
23So this report spread to the brothers that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?"G3767G1831G3778G3056G1831G1519G80G3754G1565G3101G599G3756G599G2532G2424G2036G3756G846G3754G599G3756G599G235G1437G2309G846G3306G2193G2064G5101G4314G4571
24This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.G3778G2076G3101G3588G3140G4012G5130G2532G1125G5023G2532G1492G3754G846G3141G2076G227
25And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, I suppose not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.G1161G2076G2532G4183G243G3745G2424G4160G3748G1437G1125G2596G1520G3633G3761G2889G846G3761G5562G975G1125G281
