2On the third day of that week there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus' mother was there,G2532G5154G2250G1096G1062G1722G2580G1056G2532G3384G2424G2258G1563 2and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding.G1161G2532G2424G2564G2532G846G3101G1519G1062 3When the wine ran out, Jesus' mother said to him, "They don't have any more wine."G2532G5302G3631G3384G2424G3004G4314G846G2192G3756G3631 4"How does that concern us, dear lady?" Jesus asked her. "My time hasn't come yet."G2424G3004G846G1135G5101G1698G2532G4671G3450G5610G2240G3768G2240 5His mother told the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."G846G3384G3004G1249G3748G302G3004G5213G4160 6Now standing there were six stone water jars used for the Jewish rites of purification, each one holding from20 to30 gallons.G1161G2258G2749G1563G1803G5201G3035G2596G2512G2453G5562G1417G2228G5140G3355G303 7Jesus told the servants, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them up to the brim.G2424G3004G846G1072G5201G5204G2532G1072G846G1072G2193G507 8Then he said to them, "Now draw some out and take it to the man in charge of the banquet." So they did.7G2532G3004G846G501G3568G2532G5342G755G2532G5342 9When the man in charge of the banquet tasted the water that had become wine (without knowing where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew), he called for the bridegroomG1161G5613G755G1089G5204G1096G3631G2532G1492G3756G4159G2076G1161G1249G3588G501G5204G1492G755G5455G3566 10and said to him, "Everyone serves the best wine first, and the cheap kind when people are drunk. But you have kept the best wine until now!"G2532G3004G846G3956G444G4412G5087G2570G3631G2532G3752G3184G5119G1640G4771G5083G2570G3631G2193G737 11Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.G5026G746G4592G4160G2424G1722G2580G1056G2532G5319G846G1391G2532G846G3101G4100G1519G846 12After this, Jesus went down to Capernaum - he, his mother, his brothers, and his disciples - and they remained there for a few days.G3326G5124G2597G1519G2584G846G2532G846G3384G2532G846G80G2532G846G3101G2532G3306G1563G3756G4183G2250

Confrontation in the Temple over Money

13The Jewish Passover was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.G2532G2453G3957G2258G1451G2532G2424G305G1519G2414 14In the temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves, as well as moneychangers sitting at their tables.G2532G2147G1722G2411G4453G1016G2532G4263G2532G4058G2532G2773G2521 15After making a whip out of cords, he drove all of them out of the temple, including the sheep and the cattle. He scattered the coins of the moneychangers and knocked over their tables.G2532G4160G5416G1537G4979G1544G3956G1537G2411G5037G4263G2532G1016G2532G1632G2855G2772G2532G390G5132 16Then he told those who were selling the doves, "Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father's house a marketplace!"G2532G2036G4453G4058G142G5023G1782G4160G3361G3450G3962G3624G3624G1712 17His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."G1161G846G3101G3415G3754G2076G1125G2205G4675G3624G2719G3165G2719 18Then the Jews asked him, "What sign can you show us as authority for doing these things?"G3767G611G2453G2532G2036G846G5101G4592G1166G2254G3754G4160G5023 19Jesus answered them, "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will rebuild it."G2424G611G2532G2036G846G3089G5126G3485G2532G1722G5140G2250G1453G846G1453 20The Jews said, "This sanctuary has been under construction for46 years, and you're going to rebuild it in three days?"G3767G2036G2453G5062G2532G1803G2094G3618G3778G3485G3618G2532G1453G4771G1453G846G1453G1722G5140G2250 21But the sanctuary he was speaking about was his own body.G1161G1565G3004G4012G3485G846G4983 22After he had been raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this. So they believed the Scripture and the statement that Jesus had made.G3753G3767G1453G1537G3498G846G3101G3415G3754G3004G5124G846G2532G4100G1124G2532G3056G3739G2424G2036

Jesus Knows All People

23While Jesus was in Jerusalem for the Passover Festival, many people believed in him because they saw the signs that he was doing.G1161G5613G2258G1722G2414G1722G3957G1722G1859G4183G4100G1519G846G3686G2334G846G4592G3739G4160 24Jesus, however, did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all peopleG1161G2424G846G4100G3756G4100G1438G846G1223G846G1097G3956 25and didn't need anyone to tell him what people were like, because he himself knew what was in every person.2G2532G3754G5532G2192G3756G2443G5100G3140G4012G444G1063G846G1097G5101G2258G1722G444
