Jesus Goes to Galilee

4When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than JohnG5613G3767G2962G1097G3754G5330G191G3754G2424G4160G2532G907G4119G3101G2228G2491 2(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were),G2544G2424G846G907G3756G235G846G3101 3He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.G863G2449G2532G565G3825G1519G1056 4And He had to pass through Samaria.G1161G1163G1330G1223G4540 5So He came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph;G3767G2064G1519G4172G4540G3004G4965G4139G5564G3739G2384G1325G846G5207G2501 6and Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.G1161G2384G4077G2258G1563G2424G3767G2872G1537G3597G2516G3779G1909G4077G2258G5616G1623G5610

The Woman of Samaria

7There *came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus *said to her, "Give Me a drink."G2064G1135G1537G4540G501G5204G2424G3004G846G1325G3427G4095 8For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.G1063G846G3101G565G1519G4172G2443G59G5160 9The Samaritan woman therefore said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)G3767G3004G1135G4542G846G4459G4771G5607G2453G154G4095G3844G1700G5607G1135G4542G1063G2453G4798G3756G4798G4541 10Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."G2424G611G2532G2036G846G1487G1492G1431G2316G2532G5101G2076G3004G4671G1325G3427G4095G4771G302G154G846G2532G302G1325G4671G2198G5204 11She said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?G1135G3004G846G2962G2192G3777G502G2532G5421G2076G901G4159G3767G2192G2198G5204 12"You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his sons, and his cattle?"G3361G1488G4771G3187G2257G3962G2384G3739G1325G2254G5421G2532G4095G1537G846G846G2532G846G5207G2532G846G2353 13Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again;G2424G611G2532G2036G846G3956G4095G1537G5127G5204G1372G3825 14but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. "G1161G3739G302G4095G1537G5204G3739G1473G1325G846G1372G1519G165G3364G1372G235G5204G3739G1325G846G1096G1722G846G4077G5204G242G1519G166G2222 15The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty, nor come all the way here to draw."G1135G3004G4314G846G2962G1325G3427G5124G5204G3363G1372G3363G3366G2064G1759G501 16He said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here."G2424G3004G846G5217G5455G4675G435G2532G2064G1759 17The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband';G1135G611G2532G2036G2192G3756G435G2424G3004G846G2036G2573G2036G3754G2192G3756G435 18for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly. "G1063G2192G4002G435G2532G3739G2192G3568G2192G2076G3756G4675G435G5124G2046G227 19The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.G1135G3004G846G2962G2334G3754G4771G1488G4396 20"Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you [people] say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."G2257G3962G4352G1722G5129G3735G2532G5210G3004G3754G1722G2414G2076G5117G3699G1163G4352 21Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall you worship the Father.G2424G3004G846G1135G4100G3427G5610G3754G2064G3753G4352G3777G1722G5129G3735G3777G1722G2414G4352G3962 22"You worship that which you do not know; we worship that which we know, for salvation is from the Jews.G5210G4352G1492G3756G3739G1492G3739G2249G4352G3754G4991G2076G1537G2453 23"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.G235G5610G2064G2532G3568G2076G3753G228G4353G4352G3962G1722G4151G2532G225G2532G1063G3962G2212G5108G4352G846 24"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."G2316G4151G2532G4352G846G1163G4352G1722G4151G2532G225 25The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us."G1135G3004G846G1492G3754G3323G2064G3588G3004G5547G3752G1565G2064G312G2254G3956 26Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am [He."]G2424G3004G846G1473G2980G4671G1510 27And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He had been speaking with a woman; yet no one said, "What do You seek?" or, "Why do You speak with her?"G2532G1909G5129G2064G846G3101G2532G2296G3754G2980G3326G1135G3305G3762G2036G5101G2212G2228G5101G2980G3326G846 28So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city, and said to the men,G1135G3767G863G846G5201G2532G565G1519G4172G2532G3004G444 29"Come, see a man who told me all the things that I [have] done; this is not the Christ, is it?"G1205G1492G444G3739G2036G3427G3956G3745G4160G2076G3385G3778G5547 30They went out of the city, and were coming to Him.G3767G1831G1537G4172G2532G2064G4314G846 31In the meanwhile the disciples were requesting Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."G1161G1722G3342G3101G2065G846G3004G4461G5315 32But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about."G1161G2036G846G1473G2192G1035G5315G3739G5210G1492G3756G1492 33The disciples therefore were saying to one another, "No one brought Him [anything] to eat, did he?"G3767G3004G3101G4314G240G5342G3387G5342G846G5315 34Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.G2424G3004G846G1699G1033G2076G2443G4160G2307G3992G3165G2532G5048G846G2041 35"Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, and [then] comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.G3004G3756G5210G3754G2076G2089G5072G2532G2064G2326G2400G3004G5213G1869G5216G3788G2532G2300G5561G3754G1526G3022G2235G4314G2326 36"Already he who reaps is receiving wages, and is gathering fruit for life eternal; that he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.G2532G2325G2983G3408G2532G4863G2590G1519G2222G166G2443G2532G4687G2532G2325G5463G3674 37"For in this [case] the saying is true, 'One sows, and another reaps.'G1063G1722G5129G2076G3056G228G3754G243G2076G4687G2532G243G2325 38"I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor."G1473G649G5209G2325G3739G5210G2872G3756G2872G243G2872G2532G5210G1525G1519G846G2873

The Samaritans

39And from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me all the things that I [have] done."G1161G4183G4541G1537G1565G4172G4100G1519G846G1223G3056G1135G3140G3754G2036G3427G3956G3745G4160 40So when the Samaritans came to Him, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.G3767G5613G4541G2064G4314G846G2065G846G3306G3844G846G2532G3306G1563G1417G2250 41And many more believed because of His word;G2532G4183G4119G4100G1223G846G3056 42and they were saying to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world."G5037G3004G1135G3754G3765G4100G3754G1223G4674G2981G1063G191G846G2532G1492G3754G3778G2076G230G5547G4990G2889 43And after the two days He went forth from there into Galilee.G1161G3326G1417G2250G565G1831G1564G2532G1519G1056 44For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.G1063G2424G846G3140G3754G4396G2192G3756G5092G1722G2398G3968 45So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves also went to the feast.G3767G3753G2064G1519G1056G1057G1209G846G3708G3956G3739G4160G1722G2414G1722G1859G1063G846G2532G2064G1519G1859

Healing a Nobleman’s Son

46He came therefore again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain royal official, whose son was sick at Capernaum.G3767G2424G2064G3825G1519G2580G1056G3699G4160G5204G3631G2532G2258G5100G937G3739G5207G770G1722G2584 47When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him, and was requesting [Him] to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.G3778G191G3754G2424G2240G1537G2449G1519G1056G565G4314G846G2532G2065G846G2443G2597G2532G2390G846G5207G1063G3195G599 48Jesus therefore said to him, "Unless you [people] see signs and wonders, you [simply] will not believe."G3767G2036G2424G4314G846G3362G1492G4592G2532G5059G4100G3364G4100 49The royal official said to Him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."G937G3004G4314G846G2962G2597G4250G3450G3813G599 50Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he started off.G2424G3004G846G4198G4675G5207G2198G2532G444G4100G3056G3739G2424G2036G846G2532G4198 51And as he was now going down, [his] slaves met him, saying that his son was living.G1161G846G2235G2597G846G1401G528G846G2532G518G3004G3754G4675G3816G2198 52So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."G3767G4441G3844G846G5610G1722G3739G2192G2866G2532G2036G846G3754G5504G1442G5610G4446G863G846 53So the father knew that [it was] at that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives"; and he himself believed, and his whole household.G3767G3962G1097G3754G1722G1565G5610G1722G3739G2424G2036G846G3754G4675G5207G2198G2532G846G4100G2532G846G3650G3614 54This is again a second sign that Jesus performed, when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.G5124G3825G1208G4592G2424G4160G2064G1537G2449G1519G1056
