Leviticus 24
Today's New International Version Help
24The LORD said to Moses,H3068H1696H4872H559
2"Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning continually.H6680H1121H3478H3947H2134H8081H2132H3795H3974H5216H5927H8548
3Outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, Aaron is to tend the lamps before the LORD from evening till morning, continually. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come.H2351H6532H5715H168H4150H175H6186H6153H1242H6440H3068H8548H2708H5769H1755
4The lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD must be tended continually.H6186H5216H2889H4501H6440H3068H8548
5"Take the finest flour and bake twelve loaves of bread, using two-tenths of an ephah for each loaf.H3947H5560H644H6240H2471H8147H6241H259H2471
6Arrange them in two stacks, six in each stack, on the table of pure gold before the LORD.H7760H8147H4634H8337H4635H2889H7979H6440H3068
7By each stack put some pure incense as a memorial portion to represent the bread and to be a food offering presented to the LORD.H5414H2134H3828H4635H3899H234H801H3068
8This bread is to be set out before the LORD regularly, Sabbath after Sabbath, on behalf of the Israelites, as a lasting covenant.H7676H3117H6186H6440H3068H8548H1121H3478H5769H1285
9It belongs to Aaron and his sons, who are to eat it in the sanctuary area, because it is a most holy part of their perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the LORD."H175H1121H398H6918H4725H6944H6944H801H3068H801H5769H2706
10Now the son of an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father went out among the Israelites, and a fight broke out in the camp between him and an Israelite.H1121H3482H802H1121H376H4713H3318H8432H1121H3478H3481H1121H3482H376H3478H5327H4264
11The son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name with a curse; so they brought him to Moses. (His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri the Danite.)H3482H802H1121H5344H8034H7043H935H4872H517H8034H8019H1323H1704H4294H1835
12They put him in custody until the will of the LORD should be made clear to them.H3240H4929H6310H3068H6567
13Then the LORD said to Moses:H3068H1696H4872H559
14"Take the blasphemer outside the camp. All those who heard him are to lay their hands on his head, and the entire assembly is to stone him.H3318H7043H2351H4264H8085H5564H3027H7218H5712H7275
15Say to the Israelites: 'Anyone who curses their God will be held responsible;H1696H1121H3478H559H376H3588H7043H430H5375H2399
16anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD is to be put to death. The entire assembly must stone them. Whether foreigner or native-born, when they blaspheme the Name they are to be put to death.H5344H8034H3068H4191H4191H5712H7275H7275H1616H249H5344H8034H4191
17" 'Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.H376H5221H5315H120H4191H4191
18Anyone who takes the life of someone's animal must make restitution—life for life.H5221H5315H929H7999H5315H5315
19Anyone who injures a neighbor is to be injured in the same manner:H376H5414H3971H5997H6213H6213
20fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury.H7667H7667H5869H5869H8127H8127H5414H3971H120H5414
21Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death.H5221H929H7999H5221H120H4191
22You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the LORD your God.' "H259H4941H1616H249H3068H430
23Then Moses spoke to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him. The Israelites did as the LORD commanded Moses.H4872H1696H1121H3478H3318H7043H2351H4264H7275H68H1121H3478H6213H3068H6680H4872
