Jesus Sends Out the Seventy-Two

10After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.G1161G3326G5023G2962G322G2087G1440G2532G2532G649G846G303G1417G4253G846G4383G1519G3956G4172G2532G5117G3757G3739G846G3195G2064 2He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.G3767G3004G4314G846G2326G3303G4183G1161G2040G3641G1189G3767G2962G2326G3704G1544G2040G1519G846G2326 3Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.G5217G2400G1473G649G5209G649G5613G704G1722G3319G3074 4Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.G941G3361G905G3361G4082G3366G5266G2532G782G3367G2596G3598 5"When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.'G1161G1519G3739G302G3614G1525G4412G3004G1515G5129G3624 6If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.G2532G1437G3303G5207G1515G5600G1563G5216G1515G1879G1909G846G1490G344G1909G5209G344 7Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.G1161G1722G846G3614G3306G2068G2532G4095G3844G846G3844G1063G2040G2076G514G846G3408G3327G3361G1537G3614G1519G3614 8"When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you.G2532G1519G1161G3739G302G4172G1525G2532G1209G5209G2068G3908G5213 9Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'G2532G2323G772G1722G846G2532G3004G846G932G2316G1448G1909G5209 10But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say,G1161G1519G3739G302G4172G1525G2532G1209G5209G3361G1831G1519G4113G846G2036 11'Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.'G2532G2868G1537G5216G4172G3588G2853G2254G631G5213G4133G1097G5124G3754G932G2316G1448G1909G5209 12I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.G1161G3004G5213G3754G2071G414G1722G1565G2250G4670G2228G1565G4172 13"Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.G3759G4671G5523G3759G4671G966G3754G1487G1411G1096G1722G5184G2532G4605G3588G1096G1722G5213G3340G3819G3340G2521G302G1722G4526G2532G4700 14But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.G4133G2071G414G5184G2532G4605G1722G2920G2228G5213 15And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths.G2532G4771G2584G3588G5312G2193G3772G2601G2193G86 16"He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me."G191G5216G191G1700G2532G114G5209G114G1691G1161G114G1691G114G649G3165 17The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."G1161G1440G5290G3326G5479G3004G2962G2532G1140G5293G2254G1722G4675G3686 18He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.G1161G2036G846G2334G4567G5613G796G4098G1537G3772 19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.G2400G1325G5213G1849G3961G1883G3789G2532G4651G2532G1909G3956G1411G2190G2532G3762G91G3364G91G91G5209 20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."G4133G1722G5129G5463G3361G3754G4151G5293G5213G1161G3123G5463G3754G5216G3686G1125G1722G3772 21At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.G1722G846G5610G2424G21G4151G2532G2036G1843G4671G3962G2962G3772G2532G1093G3754G613G5023G575G4680G2532G4908G2532G601G846G3516G3483G3962G3754G3779G1096G2107G1715G4675G1715 22"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."G3956G3860G3427G5259G3450G3962G2532G3762G1097G5101G5207G2076G1508G3962G2532G5101G3962G2076G1508G5207G2532G3739G1437G5207G1014G601 23Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.G2532G4762G4314G3101G2036G2398G2596G3107G3788G3588G991G3739G991 24For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."G1063G3004G5213G3754G4183G4396G2532G935G2309G1492G3739G5210G991G2532G1492G3756G1492G2532G191G3739G191G2532G191G3756G191

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"G2532G2400G5100G3544G450G2532G1598G846G3004G1320G5101G4160G2816G166G2222 26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"G1161G2036G4314G846G5101G1125G1722G3551G4459G314 27He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"G1161G611G2036G25G2962G4675G2316G1537G3650G4675G2588G2532G1537G3650G4675G5590G2532G1537G3650G4675G2479G2532G1537G3650G4675G1271G2532G4675G4139G5613G4572 28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."G1161G2036G846G611G3723G5124G4160G2532G2198 29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"G1161G2309G1344G1438G2036G4314G2424G2532G5101G2076G3450G4139 30In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.G1161G2424G5274G2036G5100G444G2597G575G2419G1519G2410G2532G4045G3027G3739G2532G1562G846G1562G2532G4127G2007G565G863G2253G5177 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side.G1161G2596G4795G2597G5100G2409G1722G1565G3598G2532G1492G846G492 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.G1161G3668G2532G3019G1096G2596G5117G2064G2532G1492G492 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.G1161G5100G4541G3593G2064G2596G846G2532G1492G846G4697 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.G2532G4334G2611G846G5134G2022G1637G2532G3631G1161G1913G846G1909G2398G2934G71G846G1519G3829G2532G1959G846 35The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'G2532G1909G839G1831G1544G1417G1220G1325G3830G2532G2036G846G1959G846G2532G3748G302G4325G3165G1722G1880G1473G591G4671 36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"G5101G3767G5130G5140G1380G4671G1096G4139G1706G1519G3027 37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him." Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."G1161G2036G4160G1656G3326G846G3767G2036G2424G846G4198G2532G4160G4771G3668 38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.G1161G1096G1722G846G4198G2532G846G1525G1519G5100G2968G1161G5100G1135G3686G3136G5264G846G1519G846G3624 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said.G2532G3592G2258G79G2564G3137G3739G2532G3869G3844G2424G4228G191G846G3056 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"G1161G3136G4049G4012G4183G1248G1161G2186G2036G2962G3199G4671G3756G3199G3754G3450G79G2641G3165G1247G3441G2036G846G3767G2443G4878G3427 41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things,G1161G2424G611G2036G846G3136G3136G3309G2532G5182G4012G4183 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."G1161G1520G2076G5532G1161G3137G1586G18G3310G3748G851G3756G851G575G846
