Lambs in a Wolf Pack

"Master, even the demons danced to your tune!"G1161G1440G5290G3326G5479G3004G2962G2532G1140G5293G2254G1722G4675G3686 18Jesus said, "I know. I saw Satan fall, a bolt of lightning out of the sky.G1161G2036G846G2334G4567G5613G796G4098G1537G3772 19See what I've given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy. No one can put a hand on you.G2400G1325G5213G1849G3961G1883G3789G2532G4651G2532G1909G3956G1411G2190G2532G3762G91G3364G91G91G5209 20All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God's authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God but what God does for you—that's the agenda for rejoicing."G4133G1722G5129G5463G3361G3754G4151G5293G5213G1161G3123G5463G3754G5216G3686G1125G1722G3772 21At that, Jesus rejoiced, exuberant in the Holy Spirit. "I thank you, Father, Master of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the know-it-alls and showed them to these innocent newcomers. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.G1722G846G5610G2424G21G4151G2532G2036G1843G4671G3962G2962G3772G2532G1093G3754G613G5023G575G4680G2532G4908G2532G601G846G3516G3483G3962G3754G3779G1096G2107G1715G4675G1715 22"I've been given it all by my Father! Only the Father knows who the Son is and only the Son knows who the Father is. The Son can introduce the Father to anyone he wants to."G3956G3860G3427G5259G3450G3962G2532G3762G1097G5101G5207G2076G1508G3962G2532G5101G3962G2076G1508G5207G2532G3739G1437G5207G1014G601 23He then turned in a private aside to his disciples. "Fortunate the eyes that see what you're seeing!G2532G4762G4314G3101G2036G2398G2596G3107G3788G3588G991G3739G991 24There are plenty of prophets and kings who would have given their right arm to see what you are seeing but never got so much as a glimpse, to hear what you are hearing but never got so much as a whisper."G1063G3004G5213G3754G4183G4396G2532G935G2309G1492G3739G5210G991G2532G1492G3756G1492G2532G191G3739G191G2532G191G3756G191

Defining “Neighbor”

25Just then a religion scholar stood up with a question to test Jesus. "Teacher, what do I need to do to get eternal life?"G2532G2400G5100G3544G450G2532G1598G846G3004G1320G5101G4160G2816G166G2222 26He answered, "What's written in God's Law? How do you interpret it?"G1161G2036G4314G846G5101G1125G1722G3551G4459G314 27He said, "That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence—and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself."G1161G611G2036G25G2962G4675G2316G1537G3650G4675G2588G2532G1537G3650G4675G5590G2532G1537G3650G4675G2479G2532G1537G3650G4675G1271G2532G4675G4139G5613G4572 28"Good answer!" said Jesus. "Do it and you'll live."G1161G2036G846G611G3723G5124G4160G2532G2198 29Looking for a loophole, he asked, "And just how would you define 'neighbor'?"G1161G2309G1344G1438G2036G4314G2424G2532G5101G2076G3450G4139 30Jesus answered by telling a story. "There was once a man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho. On the way he was attacked by robbers. They took his clothes, beat him up, and went off leaving him half-dead.G1161G2424G5274G2036G5100G444G2597G575G2419G1519G2410G2532G4045G3027G3739G2532G1562G846G1562G2532G4127G2007G565G863G2253G5177 31Luckily, a priest was on his way down the same road, but when he saw him he angled across to the other side.G1161G2596G4795G2597G5100G2409G1722G1565G3598G2532G1492G846G492 32Then a Levite religious man showed up; he also avoided the injured man.G1161G3668G2532G3019G1096G2596G5117G2064G2532G1492G492 33"A Samaritan traveling the road came on him. When he saw the man's condition, his heart went out to him.G1161G5100G4541G3593G2064G2596G846G2532G1492G846G4697 34He gave him first aid, disinfecting and bandaging his wounds. Then he lifted him onto his donkey, led him to an inn, and made him comfortable.G2532G4334G2611G846G5134G2022G1637G2532G3631G1161G1913G846G1909G2398G2934G71G846G1519G3829G2532G1959G846 35In the morning he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take good care of him. If it costs any more, put it on my bill—I'll pay you on my way back.'G2532G1909G839G1831G1544G1417G1220G1325G3830G2532G2036G846G1959G846G2532G3748G302G4325G3165G1722G1880G1473G591G4671 36"What do you think? Which of the three became a neighbor to the man attacked by robbers?"G5101G3767G5130G5140G1380G4671G1096G4139G1706G1519G3027 37"The one who treated him kindly," the religion scholar responded. Jesus said, "Go and do the same."G1161G2036G4160G1656G3326G846G3767G2036G2424G846G4198G2532G4160G4771G3668

Mary and Martha

38As they continued their travel, Jesus entered a village. A woman by the name of Martha welcomed him and made him feel quite at home.G1161G1096G1722G846G4198G2532G846G1525G1519G5100G2968G1161G5100G1135G3686G3136G5264G846G1519G846G3624 39She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said.G2532G3592G2258G79G2564G3137G3739G2532G3869G3844G2424G4228G191G846G3056 40But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen. Later, she stepped in, interrupting them. "Master, don't you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand."G1161G3136G4049G4012G4183G1248G1161G2186G2036G2962G3199G4671G3756G3199G3754G3450G79G2641G3165G1247G3441G2036G846G3767G2443G4878G3427 41The Master said, "Martha, dear Martha, you're fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing.G1161G2424G611G2036G846G3136G3136G3309G2532G5182G4012G4183 42One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it's the main course, and won't be taken from her."G1161G1520G2076G5532G1161G3137G1586G18G3310G3748G851G3756G851G575G846
