The Silver Trumpets

10The LORD said to Moses:H3068H1696H4872H559 2"Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out.H6213H8147H2689H3701H4749H6213H1961H4744H5712H4550H4264 3When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.H8628H2004H5712H3259H6607H168H4150 4If only one is sounded, the leaders—the heads of the clans of Israel—are to assemble before you.H8628H259H5387H7218H505H3478H3259 5When a trumpet blast is sounded, the tribes camping on the east are to set out.H8628H8643H4264H2583H6924H5265 6At the sounding of a second blast, the camps on the south are to set out. The blast will be the signal for setting out.H8628H8643H8145H4264H2583H8486H5265H8628H8643H4550 7To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the same signal.H6951H6950H8628H7321 8"The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.H1121H175H3548H8628H2689H2708H5769H1755 9When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies.H935H4421H776H6862H6887H7321H2689H2142H6440H3068H430H3467H341 10Also at your times of rejoicing—your appointed feasts and New Moon festivals—you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the LORD your God."H3117H8057H4150H7218H2320H8628H2689H5930H2077H8002H2146H6440H430H3068H430

11On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle of the Testimony.H6242H8145H2320H8145H8141H6051H5927H4908H5715 12Then the Israelites set out from the Desert of Sinai and traveled from place to place until the cloud came to rest in the Desert of Paran.H1121H3478H5265H4550H4057H5514H6051H7931H4057H6290 13They set out, this first time, at the LORD'S command through Moses.H7223H5265H6310H3068H3027H4872 14The divisions of the camp of Judah went first, under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab was in command.H7223H5265H1714H4264H1121H3063H6635H5177H1121H5992 15Nethanel son of Zuar was over the division of the tribe of Issachar,H6635H4294H1121H3485H5417H1121H6686 16and Eliab son of Helon was over the division of the tribe of Zebulun.H6635H4294H1121H2074H446H1121H2497 17Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the Gershonites and Merarites, who carried it, set out.H4908H3381H1121H1648H1121H4847H5265H5375H4908 18The divisions of the camp of Reuben went next, under their standard. Elizur son of Shedeur was in command.H1714H4264H7205H5265H6635H6635H468H1121H7707 19Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai was over the division of the tribe of Simeon,H6635H4294H1121H8095H8017H1121H6701 20and Eliasaph son of Deuel was over the division of the tribe of Gad.H6635H4294H1121H1410H460H1121H1845 21Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy things. The tabernacle was to be set up before they arrived.H6956H5265H5375H4720H6965H4908H935 22The divisions of the camp of Ephraim went next, under their standard. Elishama son of Ammihud was in command.H1714H4264H1121H669H5265H6635H6635H476H1121H5989 23Gamaliel son of Pedahzur was over the division of the tribe of Manasseh,H6635H4294H1121H4519H1583H1121H6301 24and Abidan son of Gideoni was over the division of the tribe of Benjamin.H6635H4294H1121H1144H27H1121H1441 25Finally, as the rear guard for all the units, the divisions of the camp of Dan set out, under their standard. Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai was in command.H1714H4264H1121H1835H5265H622H4264H6635H6635H295H1121H5996 26Pagiel son of Ocran was over the division of the tribe of Asher,H6635H4294H1121H836H6295H1121H5918 27and Ahira son of Enan was over the division of the tribe of Naphtali.H6635H4294H1121H5321H299H1121H5881 28This was the order of march for the Israelite divisions as they set out.H428H4550H1121H3478H6635H5265 29Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, "We are setting out for the place about which the LORD said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel."H4872H559H2246H1121H7467H4084H4872H2859H5265H4725H3068H559H5414H3212H2895H3068H1696H2896H3478 30He answered, "No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people."H559H3212H3212H776H4138 31But Moses said, "Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the desert, and you can be our eyes.H559H5800H3651H3045H2583H4057H5869 32If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us."H3212H2896H3068H3190H2895 33So they set out from the mountain of the LORD and traveled for three days. The ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them during those three days to find them a place to rest.H5265H2022H3068H7969H3117H1870H727H1285H3068H5265H6440H7969H3117H1870H8446H4496 34The cloud of the LORD was over them by day when they set out from the camp.H6051H3068H3119H5265H4264 35Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, "Rise up, O LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you."H727H5265H4872H559H6965H3068H341H6327H8130H5127H6440 36Whenever it came to rest, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel."H5117H559H7725H3068H7233H505H3478
