New International Version Help
24Now when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he did not resort to sorcery as at other times, but turned his face toward the desert.H1109H7200H5869H2895H3068H1288H3478H1980H6471H7125H5173H7896H6440H4057 2When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came upon himH1109H5375H5869H7200H3478H7931H7626H7307H430 3and he uttered his oracle: "The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of one whose eye sees clearly,H5375H4912H559H1109H1121H1160H5002H1397H5869H8365H5002 4the oracle of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:H5002H8085H561H410H2372H4236H7706H5307H5869H1540 5"How beautiful are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel!H2895H168H3290H4908H3478 6"Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river, like aloes planted by the LORD, like cedars beside the waters.H5158H5186H1593H5104H174H3068H5193H730H4325 7Water will flow from their buckets; their seed will have abundant water. "Their king will be greater than Agag; their kingdom will be exalted.H5140H4325H5140H1805H2233H7227H4325H4428H7311H90H4438H5375 8"God brought them out of Egypt; they have the strength of a wild ox. They devour hostile nations and break their bones in pieces; with their arrows they pierce them.H410H3318H4714H8443H7214H398H1471H6862H1633H6106H4272H2671 9Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness—who dares to rouse them? "May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!"H3766H7901H738H3833H6965H1288H1288H779H779 10Then Balak's anger burned against Balaam. He struck his hands together and said to him, "I summoned you to curse my enemies, but you have blessed them these three times.H1111H639H2734H1109H5606H3709H5606H1111H559H1109H7121H6895H341H1288H1288H7969H6471 11Now leave at once and go home! I said I would reward you handsomely, but the LORD has kept you from being rewarded."H1272H4725H559H3513H3513H3513H3068H4513H3519 12Balaam answered Balak, "Did I not tell the messengers you sent me,H1109H559H1111H1696H4397H7971H559 13'Even if Balak gave me his palace filled with silver and gold, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the LORD—and I must say only what the LORD says'?H1111H5414H1004H4393H3701H2091H3201H5674H6310H3068H6213H2896H7451H3820H3068H1696H1696 14Now I am going back to my people, but come, let me warn you of what this people will do to your people in days to come."H1980H5971H3212H3289H5971H6213H5971H319H3117

Balaam’s Fourth Message

15Then he uttered his oracle: "The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of one whose eye sees clearly,H5375H4912H559H1109H1121H1160H5002H1397H5869H8365H5002 16the oracle of one who hears the words of God, who has knowledge from the Most High, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened:H5002H8085H561H410H3045H1847H5945H2372H4236H7706H5307H5869H1540 17"I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth.H7200H7789H7138H1869H3556H3290H7626H6965H3478H4272H6285H4124H6979H1121H8352H8351 18Edom will be conquered; Seir, his enemy, will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong.H123H3424H8165H3424H341H3478H6213H2428 19A ruler will come out of Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city."H3290H7287H6H8300H5892

Balaam’s Fifth Message

20Then Balaam saw Amalek and uttered his oracle: "Amalek was first among the nations, but he will come to ruin at last."H7200H6002H5375H4912H559H6002H7225H1471H319H8H5703

Balaam’s Sixth Message

21Then he saw the Kenites and uttered his oracle: "Your dwelling place is secure, your nest is set in a rock;H7200H7017H5375H4912H559H386H4186H7760H7064H5553 22yet you Kenites will be destroyed when Asshur takes you captive."H7014H518H1197H804H7617
