The Fall of Babylon the Great

18After this I saw another angel with great authority coming down from heaven, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.G2532G3326G5023G1492G243G32G2597G1537G3772G2192G3173G1849G2532G1093G5461G1537G846G1391 2He cried in a mighty voice: It has fallen, Babylon the Great has fallen! She has become a dwelling for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, and a haunt for every unclean and despicable beast.G2532G2896G2479G1722G3173G5456G3004G897G3173G4098G4098G2532G1096G2732G1142G2532G5438G3956G169G4151G2532G5438G3956G169G2532G3404G3732 3For all the nations have drunk the wine of her sexual immorality, which brings wrath. The kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy from her excessive luxury.G3754G3956G1484G4095G1537G3631G2372G846G4202G2532G935G1093G4203G3326G846G2532G1713G1093G4147G1537G1411G846G4764 4Then I heard another voice from heaven: Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins, or receive any of her plagues.G2532G191G243G5456G1537G3772G3004G1831G1537G846G3450G2992G3363G4790G3363G4790G846G266G2532G3363G2983G3363G1537G846G4127 5For her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.G3754G846G266G190G2853G891G3772G2532G2316G3421G846G92 6Pay her back the way she also paid, and double it according to her works. In the cup in which she mixed, mix a double portion for her.G591G846G2532G5613G846G3778G591G5213G2532G1363G846G1362G2596G846G2041G1722G4221G3739G2767G2767G846G1362 7As much as she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, give her that much torment and grief. Because she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I will never see grief,'G3745G1392G1438G2532G4763G5118G929G2532G3997G1325G846G3754G3004G1722G846G2588G2521G938G2532G1510G3756G5503G2532G1492G3364G3997 8therefore her plagues will come in one day— death, and grief, and famine. She will be burned up with fire, because the Lord God who judges her is mighty.G5124G1223G2240G846G4127G2240G1722G3391G2250G2288G2532G3997G2532G3042G2532G2618G1722G4442G3754G2478G2962G2316G3588G2919G846

The World Mourns Babylon’s Fall

9The kings of the earth who have committed sexual immorality and lived luxuriously with her will weep and mourn over her when they see the smoke of her burning.G2532G935G1093G3588G4203G2532G4763G3326G846G2799G846G2532G2875G1909G846G3752G991G2586G846G4451 10They stand far off in fear of her torment, saying: Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the mighty city! For in a single hour your judgment has come.G2476G3113G575G1223G5401G846G929G3004G3759G3759G3173G4172G897G2478G4172G3754G1722G3391G5610G2064G4675G2920G2064 11The merchants of the earth will also weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their merchandise any longer—G2532G1713G1093G2799G2532G3996G1909G846G3754G3762G59G846G1117G3765 12merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; fine fabrics of linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; all kinds of fragrant wood products; objects of ivory; objects of expensive wood, brass, iron, and marble;G1117G5557G2532G696G2532G5093G3037G2532G3135G2532G1040G2532G4209G2532G4596G2532G2847G2532G3956G2367G3586G2532G3956G4632G1661G2532G3956G4632G1537G5093G3586G2532G5475G2532G4604G2532G3139 13cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; wine, olive oil, fine wheat flour, and grain; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human bodies and souls.G2532G2792G2532G2368G2532G3464G2532G3030G2532G3631G2532G1637G2532G4585G2532G4621G2532G2934G2532G4263G2532G2462G2532G4480G2532G4983G2532G5590G444 14The fruit you craved has left you. All your splendid and glamorous things are gone; they will never find them again.G2532G3703G4675G5590G1939G565G575G4675G2532G3956G3588G3045G2532G2986G565G575G4675G2532G2147G846G3765G3364 15The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand far off in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,G1713G5130G3588G4147G575G846G2476G3113G575G1223G5401G846G929G2799G2532G3996 16saying: Woe, woe, the great city, clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls;G2532G3004G3759G3759G3173G4172G4016G1039G2532G4210G2532G2847G2532G5558G1722G5557G2532G5093G3037G2532G3135 17because in a single hour such fabulous wealth was destroyed! And every shipmaster, seafarer, the sailors, and all who do business by sea, stood far offG3754G3391G5610G5118G4149G2049G2532G3956G2942G2532G3956G3658G1909G4143G2532G3492G2532G3745G2038G2281G2476G3113G575 18as they watched the smoke from her burning and kept crying out: "Who is like the great city?"G2532G2896G3708G2586G846G4451G3004G5101G3664G3173G4172 19They threw dust on their heads and kept crying out, weeping, and mourning: Woe, woe, the great city, where all those who have ships on the sea became rich from her wealth; because in a single hour she was destroyed.G2532G906G5522G1909G846G2776G2532G2896G2799G2532G3996G3004G3759G3759G3173G4172G1722G3739G4147G3956G2192G4143G1722G2281G1537G846G5094G3754G3391G5610G2049 20Rejoice over her, heaven, and you saints, apostles, and prophets, because God has executed your judgment on her!G2165G1909G846G3772G2532G40G652G2532G4396G3754G2316G2917G2919G5216G1537G846

The Finality of Babylon’s Fall

21Then a mighty angel picked up a stone like a large millstone and threw it into the sea, saying: In this way, Babylon the great city will be thrown down violently and never be found again.G2532G1520G2478G32G142G3037G5613G3173G3458G2532G906G1519G2281G3004G3779G3731G906G3173G4172G897G906G2532G2147G3364G2089 22The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters will never be heard in you again; no craftsman of any trade will ever be found in you again; the sound of a mill will never be heard in you again;G2532G5456G2790G2532G3451G2532G834G2532G4538G191G3364G2089G1722G4671G2532G3364G3956G5079G3956G5078G2147G2089G1722G4671G2532G5456G3458G191G3364G2089G1722G4671 23the light of a lamp will never shine in you again; and the voice of a groom and bride will never be heard in you again. [All this will happen] because your merchants were the nobility of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery,G2532G5457G3088G5316G3364G2089G1722G4671G2532G5456G3566G2532G3565G191G3364G2089G1722G4671G3754G4675G1713G2258G3175G1093G3754G1722G4675G5331G4105G3956G1484G4105 24and the blood of prophets and saints, and all those slaughtered on earth, was found in you.G2532G1722G846G2147G129G4396G2532G40G2532G3956G4969G1909G1093
