Jesus Sends Out His Disciples

10The Lord now chose seventy-twoc other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.G1161G3326G5023G2962G322G2087G1440G2532G2532G649G846G303G1417G4253G846G4383G1519G3956G4172G2532G5117G3757G3739G846G3195G20642These were his instructions to them: "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.G3767G3004G4314G846G2326G3303G4183G1161G2040G3641G1189G3767G2962G2326G3704G1544G2040G1519G846G23263Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.G5217G2400G1473G649G5209G649G5613G704G1722G3319G30744Don't take any money with you, nor a traveler's bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don't stop to greet anyone on the road.G941G3361G905G3361G4082G3366G5266G2532G782G3367G2596G35985"Whenever you enter someone's home, first say, 'May God's peace be on this house.'G1161G1519G3739G302G3614G1525G4412G3004G1515G5129G36246If those who live there are peaceful, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you.G2532G1437G3303G5207G1515G5600G1563G5216G1515G1879G1909G846G1490G344G1909G5209G3447Don't move around from home to home. Jesus’ Prayer of Thanksgiving

21At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, "O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.G1722G846G5610G2424G21G4151G2532G2036G1843G4671G3962G2962G3772G2532G1093G3754G613G5023G575G4680G2532G4908G2532G601G846G3516G3483G3962G3754G3779G1096G2107G1715G4675G171522"My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."G3956G3860G3427G5259G3450G3962G2532G3762G1097G5101G5207G2076G1508G3962G2532G5101G3962G2076G1508G5207G2532G3739G1437G5207G1014G60123Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and said, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen.G2532G4762G4314G3101G2036G2398G2596G3107G3788G3588G991G3739G99124I tell you, many prophets and kings longed to see what you see, but they didn't see it. And they longed to hear what you hear, but they didn't hear it."G1063G3004G5213G3754G4183G4396G2532G935G2309G1492G3739G5210G991G2532G1492G3756G1492G2532G191G3739G191G2532G191G3756G191

The Most Important Commandment

25One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: "Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?"G2532G2400G5100G3544G450G2532G1598G846G3004G1320G5101G4160G2816G166G222226Jesus replied, "What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?"G1161G2036G4314G846G5101G1125G1722G3551G4459G31427The man answered, "'You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"cG1161G611G2036G25G2962G4675G2316G1537G3650G4675G2588G2532G1537G3650G4675G5590G2532G1537G3650G4675G2479G2532G1537G3650G4675G1271G2532G4675G4139G5613G457228"Right!" Jesus told him. "Do this and you will live!"G1161G2036G846G611G3723G5124G4160G2532G219829The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"G1161G2309G1344G1438G2036G4314G2424G2532G5101G2076G3450G4139

Parable of the Good Samaritan

30Jesus replied with a story: "A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road.G1161G2424G5274G2036G5100G444G2597G575G2419G1519G2410G2532G4045G3027G3739G2532G1562G846G1562G2532G4127G2007G565G863G2253G517731"By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by.G1161G2596G4795G2597G5100G2409G1722G1565G3598G2532G1492G846G49232A Temple assistantc walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.G1161G3668G2532G3019G1096G2596G5117G2064G2532G1492G49233"Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him.G1161G5100G4541G3593G2064G2596G846G2532G1492G846G469734Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.G2532G4334G2611G846G5134G2022G1637G2532G3631G1161G1913G846G1909G2398G2934G71G846G1519G3829G2532G1959G84635The next day he handed the innkeeper two silver coinsc, telling him, 'Take care of this man. If his bill runs higher than this, I'll pay you the next time I'm here.'G2532G1909G839G1831G1544G1417G1220G1325G3830G2532G2036G846G1959G846G2532G3748G302G4325G3165G1722G1880G1473G591G467136"Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?" Jesus asked.G5101G3767G5130G5140G1380G4671G1096G4139G1706G1519G302737The man replied, "The one who showed him mercy." Then Jesus said, "Yes, now go and do the same."G1161G2036G4160G1656G3326G846G3767G2036G2424G846G4198G2532G4160G4771G3668

Jesus Visits Martha and Mary

38As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.G1161G1096G1722G846G4198G2532G846G1525G1519G5100G2968G1161G5100G1135G3686G3136G5264G846G1519G846G362439Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord's feet, listening to what he taught.G2532G3592G2258G79G2564G3137G3739G2532G3869G3844G2424G4228G191G846G305640But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, "Lord, doesn't it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me."G1161G3136G4049G4012G4183G1248G1161G2186G2036G2962G3199G4671G3756G3199G3754G3450G79G2641G3165G1247G3441G2036G846G3767G2443G4878G342741But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!G1161G2424G611G2036G846G3136G3136G3309G2532G5182G4012G418342There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her."G1161G1520G2076G5532G1161G3137G1586G18G3310G3748G851G3756G851G575G846
