It is important to be successful in the world, just don't make money our God.
Scriptures is full of warnings about temptations that can replace our first priority in life. Money and lust (immediate pleasure, forsaking the longer, greater pleasure). Yet, the same are considered important. Money (possessions, power) is good for influence. Spouses are good for stability and they meet our intimacy and sexual needs.
As we can see, God is not against us, but want the best for us. Young people should pray for these things, while again, keeping our priorities (God is first, and holy—separate from all other possible “firsts”)
As Christians, let us seek to be the best in all we do. In our work, our studies, our families, friends, church, and anything and anywhere God places us.
That way, we can be an influence to others. At times, God may take away the things we may consider “gods,” only to bring us back stronger in our faith in Him (though money is important, that is not our dependence. We are fine without it!). May money never take His place, but let us steward His possessions well (and enjoy it too).
15A poor, wise man knew how to save the town, and so it was rescued. But afterward no one thought to thank him. 16So even though wisdom is better than strength, those who are wise will be despised if they are poor. What they say will not be appreciated for long.

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
