Scripture Reflection by Sang Sur on Job 24:12,22,24 posted December 21, 2018 - Prayer Tents

This chapter reads like one of David's Psalms. Job begins with a mourning about how he is in suffering, as David did when he was in persecution. He expresses that it seems like the bad people, the wicked, are getting the upper hand.
David always concludes his prayers stating that even though it may seem that way, God is just and mighty and He will make things right by revenging the wrong doers and protecting the innocent. David’s conclusion would be praise to God where he shows that he doesn’t need to worry even though he is being chased by thousands of men trying to take his life. This part is missing from Job's writing.
As the year comes to an end, some of us may be wondering what our future holds. Satan can attack our minds no differently than what Job experienced, which is not just loss of things, but also attacks from others or even your own disparaging thoughts. However, like David, let’s conclude our year with praise knowing that He is a shield around us, that He is just (e.g. Psalm 7.10) and good to us.
12The groans of the dying rise from the city, and the wounded cry for help, yet God ignores their moaning. 22"God, in his power, drags away the rich. They may rise high, but they have no assurance of life. 24And though they are great now, in a moment they will be gone like all others, cut off like heads of grain.

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
