Joash never grew up.
At seven, he had a great mentor Jehoiada who directed him in God's ways. Things went well when Joash followed.
Yet, his growth should have led to making those wise decisions himself. However, he never grew up. Instead, remained a passive "yes man."
At least his younger days of being a "yes man" was to the right things.
Without having the right center ourselves, we, too, can say yes to what the crowds tell us, while we are to not be part of the world.
Will we grow up in His Word and make His Word our meditation, our center?
17But after the death of Jehoiada things fell apart. The leaders of Judah made a formal presentation to the king and he went along with them.
