Position of influence
When the Pharisees said something, Jesus held the position of influence to be able to speak up so that people would listen. If it was not that way, Jesus would have been shut down when he tried to utters so many verses in response to the Pharisees.
In the same way, God places people in the marketplace to hold a standing so that people would stop and listen. When God places us in those positions, let us be ready to speak what is good for the audience to hear.
We can be ready by what we read back in Matthew 10:19-20... don't worry about what to say because the Spirit in us will be speaking through us. True preparation is a deeper relationship with God so that when given an opportunity, we can be the light of this world.
2“Why do your disciples disobey our age-old tradition? For they ignore our tradition of ceremonial hand washing before they eat.” 3Jesus replied, “And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God?
