Scripture Reflection by Sang Sur on Genesis 6:8-9 posted October 23, 2013 - Prayer Tents

Finding Favor of the Lord.
But Noah found favor with the Lord. Preceding verses talk about how God was not pleased with the people and planned to remove them all. Then it all turns around to one person with the preposition “but.”
We too live in a world where people are not concerned about God and wish to do things their own way, for their own glory. In that midst, let us find favor with God as Noah did.
Couple of things we can glean from Noah that pleased God:
1. Noah was a righteous man—he did what was right toward God and others (it follows that he was blameless—no one can find fault with how he lived)
2. He walked in close fellowship with God. He spoke to and listened to God on a constant basis.
Let us remain in His love. This love has conquered all.
8But Noah found favor with the LORD. 9This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.
