Men, let us die for our wives and children.
This is the call for those who are head of families, just as Jesus, the head of the Church, does the same for us, the bride. As the groom, we are to sacrifice to enable those in our care to be holy and clean (verse 26) and to present her as a glorious church that is holy and without fault (verse 27).
We are to teach and model the right way to live. This requires us to remain close to the Word and live righteously.
Thanks be to God, for He enables us to live that way despite our failures and mistakes.
25For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. 27He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
