But because i feared God i didnt act that way.
I really want to learn this statement. Lots of times i know i shouldnt gossip, but i end up gossiping especially when im mad at someone. But nehemiah said that he feared the LORD and thus didnt act in a selfish way. I am humbled and will remember this.
15The former governors, in contrast, had laid heavy burdens on the people, demanding a daily ration of food and wine, besides forty pieces of silver. Even their assistants took advantage of the people. But because I feared God, I did not act that way.
