Examine yourselves when eating together
Lord's Supper can refer to the sacrament we practice in a special setting with bread and wine (grape juice), and it can also be our regular meals as we come together.
Paul makes couple of points that we may want to put into practice.
First, I know we may be hungry, but our purpose is not to fill our stomachs. It is to enjoy fellowship one another while rejoicing in and celebrating each others' presence. For that purpose, we ought to wait for one another.
Second, before we dive in, we ought to examine ourselves before God. Is there a brother or sister we hold a grudge against? Is there some sin we hold against God? We ought to confess it to God and ask Him to handle those for us. Come honestly before Him and be thankful for the food and all other provisions He gives us.
To do this together provides a great setting of humility before God where we invite God into our midst and allow Him to take control and transform our lives when we gather together.
28That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. 29For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God's judgment upon yourself. 31But if we would examine ourselves, we would not be judged by God in this way. 33So, my dear brothers and sisters, when you gather for the Lord's Supper, wait for each other.

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
