Some construction terms:
Cornerstone = foundation.
We have one that we can build on, and it is something that stands over time, not something that may crumble at any moment to become a waste.
We are measured against a plumb line. This is when we put a door or window and ask, “is it plumb?” or “is it exactly vertical?” Our sense of living for the Lord and running our businesses for the Kingdom, it is not based on our judgment, but against God's standards (plumb line).
What I realize lately is a potential danger for Christian businesspersons. When we focus too much on the business and successes “for the Lord,” we may become proud and think we did something for God.
When we focus too much on spirituality and waiting on God, it may lead us to inaction.
We need to be mindful of our hearts and keep going to the Lord. And that is why we need each other and our meetings/interactions are so valuable.
Stay strong everyone!
16Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says. “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken. 17I will test you with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. Since your refuge is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, a flood will sweep it away.
