Exodus 24

Israel Affirms the Covenant

24Now He said to Moses, "Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar.H559H4872H5927H3068H175H5070H30H7657H2205H3478H7812H73502"And Moses alone shall come near the LORD, but they shall not come near; nor shall the people go up with him."H4872H5066H3068H5066H5971H59273So Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD and all the judgments. And all the people answered with one voice and said, "All the words which the LORD has said we will do."H4872H935H5608H5971H1697H3068H4941H5971H6030H259H6963H559H1697H3068H1696H62134And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.H4872H3789H1697H3068H7925H1242H1129H4196H2022H4676H8147H6240H7626H34785Then he sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen to the LORD.H7971H5288H1121H3478H5927H5930H2076H8002H2077H6499H30686And Moses took half the blood and put it in basins, and half the blood he sprinkled on the altar.H4872H3947H2677H1818H7760H101H2677H1818H2236H41967Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, "All that the LORD has said we will do, and be obedient."H3947H5612H1285H7121H241H5971H559H3068H1696H6213H80858And Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people, and said, "This is the blood of the covenant which the LORD has made with you according to all these words."H4872H3947H1818H2236H5971H559H1818H1285H3068H3772H1697

On the Mountain with God

9Then Moses went up, also Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,H5927H4872H175H5070H30H7657H2205H347810and they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity.H7200H430H3478H7272H3840H4639H5601H6106H8064H289211But on the nobles of the children of Israel He did not lay His hand. So they saw God, and they ate and drank.H678H1121H3478H7971H3027H2372H430H398H835412Then the LORD said to Moses, "Come up to Me on the mountain and be there; and I will give you tablets of stone, and the law and commandments which I have written, that you may teach them."H3068H559H4872H5927H2022H5414H3871H68H8451H4687H3789H338413So Moses arose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up to the mountain of God.H4872H6965H8334H3091H4872H5927H2022H43014And he said to the elders, "Wait here for us until we come back to you. Indeed Aaron and Hur are with you. If any man has a difficulty, let him go to them."H559H2205H3427H2088H7725H175H2354H4310H1167H1697H1167H506615Then Moses went up into the mountain, and a cloud covered the mountain.H4872H5927H2022H6051H3680H202216Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.H3519H3068H7931H2022H5514H6051H3680H8337H3117H7637H3117H7121H4872H8432H605117The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.H4758H3519H3068H398H784H7218H2022H5869H1121H347818So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.H4872H935H8432H6051H5927H2022H4872H2022H705H3117H705H3915

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
