Job 42

Job Responds to the Lord

42Then Job replied to the LORD.H347H6030H3068H5592"I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you.H3045H3201H4209H12193You asked, 'Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?' It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.H5956H6098H1847H5046H995H6381H30454You said, 'Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.'H8085H1696H7592H30455I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.H8085H8088H241H5869H72006I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."H3988H5162H6083H665

Conclusion: The Lord Blesses Job

7After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: "I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.H310H3068H1696H1697H347H3068H559H464H8489H639H2734H8147H7453H1696H3559H5650H3478So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has."H3947H7651H6499H7651H352H3212H5650H347H5927H5930H5650H347H6419H6440H5375H6213H5039H1696H3559H5650H3479So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite did as the LORD commanded them, and the LORD accepted Job's prayer.H464H8489H1085H7747H6691H5284H3212H6213H3068H1696H3068H5375H6440H34710When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before!H3068H7725H7622H7622H347H6419H7453H3068H3254H347H493211Then all his brothers, sisters, and former friends came and feasted with him in his home. And they consoled him and comforted him because of all the trials the LORD had brought against him. And each of them brought him a gift of moneyc and a gold ring.H935H251H269H3045H6440H398H3899H1004H5110H5162H7451H3068H935H376H5414H259H7192H376H5141H209112So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.H3068H1288H319H347H7225H702H6240H505H6629H8337H505H1581H505H6776H1241H505H86013He also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters.H7658H1121H7969H132314He named his first daughter Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.H7121H8034H259H3224H8034H8145H7103H8034H7992H716315In all the land no women were as lovely as the daughters of Job. And their father put them into his will along with their brothers.H776H802H4672H3303H1323H347H1H5414H5159H8432H25116Job lived 140 years after that, living to see four generations of his children and grandchildren.H310H2421H347H3967H705H8141H7200H1121H1121H1121H702H175517Then he died, an old man who had lived a long, full life.H347H4191H2205H7649H3117
