Peter Heals a Crippled Beggar

3Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o'clock prayer service.G1161G4074G2532G2491G305G1909G846G1519G2411G5610G4335G1766 2As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.G2532G5100G435G5225G5560G1537G846G3384G2836G941G3739G5087G2250G2596G4314G2374G2411G3588G3004G5611G154G1654G3844G1531G1519G2411 3When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money.G3739G1492G4074G2532G2491G3195G1524G1519G2411G2065G2983G1654 4Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, "Look at us!"G1161G4074G816G1519G846G4862G2491G2036G991G1519G2248 5The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money.G1161G1907G846G4328G2983G5100G3844G846 6But Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold for you. But I'll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!"G1161G4074G2036G694G2532G5553G5225G3427G3756G1161G3739G5124G2192G1325G4671G1722G3686G2424G5547G3480G1453G2532G4043 7Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man's feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.G2532G4084G846G1188G5495G1453G1161G3916G846G939G2532G4974G4732 8He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them.G2532G1814G2476G2532G4043G2532G1525G4862G846G1519G2411G4043G2532G242G2532G134G2316 9All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God.G2532G3956G2992G1492G846G4043G2532G134G2316 10When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!G5037G1921G3754G846G2258G3778G3588G2521G4314G1654G1909G5611G4439G2411G2532G4130G2285G2532G1611G1909G4819G846 11They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon's Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John.G1161G5560G2390G2902G4074G2532G2491G3956G2992G4936G4314G846G1909G4745G2564G4672G1569

Peter Preaches in the Temple

12Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. "People of Israel," he said, "what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?G1161G4074G1492G611G4314G2992G435G2475G5101G2296G1909G5129G2228G5101G816G2254G5613G2398G1411G2228G2150G4160G846G4043 13For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate's decision to release him.G2316G11G2532G2464G2532G2384G2316G2257G3962G1392G846G3816G2424G3739G5210G3860G2532G720G846G2596G4383G4091G2919G630G1565G630 14You rejected this holy, righteous one and instead demanded the release of a murderer.G1161G5210G720G40G2532G1342G2532G154G5406G435G5483G5213 15You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact!G1161G615G747G2222G3739G2316G1453G1537G3498G3739G2249G2070G3144 16"Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus' name has healed him before your very eyes.G2532G846G3686G1909G4102G846G3686G4732G5026G4732G3739G2334G2532G1492G2532G4102G1325G1223G846G1325G846G5126G3647G561G5216G3956 17"Friends, I realize that what you and your leaders did to Jesus was done in ignorance.G2532G3568G80G1492G3754G2596G52G4238G5618G2532G5216G758 18But God was fulfilling what all the prophets had foretold about the Messiah—that he must suffer these things.G1161G3739G2316G4293G1223G4750G3956G846G4396G5547G3958G4137G3779G4137 19Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.G3340G3767G2532G1994G1519G5216G266G1813G3704G2540G403G302G2064G575G4383G2962 20Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.G2532G649G2424G5547G4296G5213 21For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his holy prophets.G3739G3772G3303G1163G1209G891G5550G605G3956G3739G2316G2980G1223G4750G3956G846G40G4396G575G165 22Moses said, 'The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything he tells you.'G1063G3475G3303G2036G4314G3962G3754G4396G450G2962G5216G2316G450G5213G1537G5216G80G5613G1691G846G191G2596G3956G3745G302G2980G4314G5209 23Then Moses said, 'Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from God's people.'G1161G2071G3956G5590G3748G302G191G3361G191G1565G4396G1842G1537G2992 24"Starting with Samuel, every prophet spoke about what is happening today.G2532G1161G3956G4396G575G4545G2532G2517G3745G2980G4293G2532G4293G5025G2250 25You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors. For God said to Abraham, 'Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed.'G5210G2075G5207G4396G2532G1242G3739G2316G1303G4314G2257G3962G3004G4314G11G2532G4675G4690G1757G3956G3965G1093G1757 26When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways."G5213G4412G2316G450G846G3816G2424G649G846G2127G5209G1722G654G1538G5216G575G4189
