Remembering Israel’s Journey

33This is the route the Israelites followed as they marched out of Egypt under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.H4550H1121H3478H3318H776H4714H6635H3027H4872H175 2At the LORD's direction, Moses kept a written record of their progress. These are the stages of their march, identified by the different places where they stopped along the way.H4872H3789H4161H4550H6310H3068H4550H4161 3They set out from the city of Rameses in early spring—on the fifteenth day of the first month—on the morning after the first Passover celebration. The people of Israel left defiantly, in full view of all the Egyptians.H5265H7486H7223H2320H6240H2568H3117H7223H2320H4283H6453H1121H3478H3318H7311H3027H5869H4714 4Meanwhile, the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn sons, whom the LORD had killed the night before. The LORD had defeated the gods of Egypt that night with great acts of judgment!H4714H6912H1060H3068H5221H430H3068H6213H8201 5After leaving Rameses, the Israelites set up camp at Succoth.H1121H3478H5265H7486H2583H5523 6Then they left Succoth and camped at Etham on the edge of the wilderness.H5265H5523H2583H864H7097H4057 7They left Etham and turned back toward Pi-hahiroth, opposite Baal-zephon, and camped near Migdol.H5265H864H7725H6367H1189H2583H6440H4024 8They left Pi-hahiroth and crossed the Red Sea into the wilderness beyond. Then they traveled for three days into the Etham wilderness and camped at Marah.H5265H6440H6367H5674H8432H3220H4057H3212H7969H3117H1870H4057H864H2583H4785 9They left Marah and camped at Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees.H5265H4785H935H362H362H8147H6240H5869H4325H7657H8558H2583 10They left Elim and camped beside the Red Sea.H5265H362H2583H5488H3220 11They left the Red Sea and camped in the wilderness of Sin.H5265H5488H3220H2583H4057H5512 12They left the wilderness of Sin and camped at Dophkah.H5265H4057H5512H2583H1850 13They left Dophkah and camped at Alush.H5265H1850H2583H442 14They left Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.H5265H442H2583H7508H4325H5971H8354 15They left Rephidim and camped in the wilderness of Sinai.H5265H7508H2583H4057H5514 16They left the wilderness of Sinai and camped at Kibroth-hattaavah.H5265H4057H5514H2583H6914 17They left Kibroth-hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth.H5265H6914H2583H2698 18They left Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah.H5265H2698H2583H7575 19They left Rithmah and camped at Rimmon-perez.H5265H7575H2583H7428 20They left Rimmon-perez and camped at Libnah.H5265H7428H2583H3841 21They left Libnah and camped at Rissah.H5265H3841H2583H7446 22They left Rissah and camped at Kehelathah.H5265H7446H2583H6954 23They left Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.H5265H6954H2583H2022H8234 24They left Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah.H5265H2022H8234H2583H2732 25They left Haradah and camped at Makheloth.H5265H2732H2583H4722 26They left Makheloth and camped at Tahath.H5265H4722H2583H8480 27They left Tahath and camped at Terah.H5265H8480H2583H8646 28They left Terah and camped at Mithcah.H5265H8646H2583H4989 29They left Mithcah and camped at Hashmonah.H5265H4989H2583H2832 30They left Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth.H5265H2832H2583H4149 31They left Moseroth and camped at Bene-jaakan.H5265H4149H2583H1142 32They left Bene-jaakan and camped at Hor-haggidgad.H5265H1142H2583H2735 33They left Hor-haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah.H5265H2735H2583H3193 34They left Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.H5265H3193H2583H5684 35They left Abronah and camped at Ezion-geber.H5265H5684H2583H6100 36They left Ezion-geber and camped at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.H5265H6100H2583H4057H6790H6946 37They left Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, at the border of Edom.H5265H6946H2583H2022H2023H7097H776H123 38While they were at the foot of Mount Hor, Aaron the priest was directed by the LORD to go up the mountain, and there he died. You must destroy all their carved and molten images and demolish all their pagan shrines.H3423H3427H776H6440H6H4906H6H4541H6754H8045H1116 53Take possession of the land and settle in it, because I have given it to you to occupy.H3423H776H3427H5414H776H3423 54You must distribute the land among the clans by sacred lot and in proportion to their size. A larger portion of land will be allotted to each of the larger clans, and a smaller portion will be allotted to each of the smaller clans. The decision of the sacred lot is final. In this way, the portions of land will be divided among your ancestral tribes.H5157H776H1486H5157H4940H7227H7235H5159H4592H4591H5159H1486H3318H4294H1H5157 55But if you fail to drive out the people who live in the land, those who remain will be like splinters in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land where you live.H3423H3427H776H6440H3498H7899H5869H6796H6654H6887H776H3427 56And I will do to you what I had planned to do to them."H6213H1819H6213
