Visions of the Four Beasts

7In the first year of King Belshazzar of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head as he lay in bed. Then he wrote down the dream:H2298H8140H1113H4430H895H1841H2370H2493H2376H7217H5922H4903H116H3790H2493H560H7217H44062I, Daniel, saw in my vision by night the four winds of heaven stirring up the great sea,H1841H6032H560H2370H1934H2376H5974H3916H718H703H7308H8065H1519H7229H32213and four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another.H703H7260H2423H5559H4481H3221H8133H1668H4481H16684The first was like a lion and had eagles' wings. Then, as I watched, its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a human being; and a human mind was given to it.H6933H744H5403H1611H1934H2370H5705H1611H4804H5191H4481H772H6966H5922H7271H606H606H3825H30525Another beast appeared, a second one, that looked like a bear. It was raised up on one side, had three tusks in its mouth among its teeth and was told, "Arise, devour many bodies!"H718H317H2423H8578H1821H1678H6966H2298H7859H8532H5967H6433H997H8128H560H3652H6966H399H7690H13216After this, as I watched, another appeared, like a leopard. The beast had four wings of a bird on its back and four heads; and dominion was given to it.H870H1836H1934H2370H718H317H5245H5922H1355H703H1611H5776H2423H703H7217H7985H30527After this I saw in the visions by night a fourth beast, terrifying and dreadful and exceedingly strong. It had great iron teeth and was devouring, breaking in pieces, and stamping what was left with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that preceded it, and it had ten horns.H870H1836H1934H2370H3916H2376H718H7244H2423H1763H574H8624H3493H7260H6523H8128H399H1855H7512H7606H7271H1932H8133H4481H3606H2423H6925H6236H71628I was considering the horns, when another horn appeared, a little one coming up among them; to make room for it, three of the earlier horns were plucked up by the roots. There were eyes like human eyes in this horn, and a mouth speaking arrogantly.H1934H7920H7162H431H5559H997H317H2192H7162H6925H4481H8532H4481H6933H7162H6132H431H1668H7162H5870H5870H606H6433H4449H7260

Judgment before the Ancient One

9As I watched, thrones were set in place, and an Ancient One took his throne, his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and its wheels were burning fire.H1934H2370H5705H3764H7412H6268H3118H3488H3831H2358H8517H8177H7217H5343H6015H3764H5135H7631H1535H1815H513510A stream of fire issued and flowed out from his presence. A thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood attending him. The court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.H5135H5103H5047H5312H4481H6925H506H506H8120H7240H7240H6966H6925H1780H3488H5609H660611I watched then because of the noise of the arrogant words that the horn was speaking. And as I watched, the beast was put to death, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.H1934H2370H116H4481H7032H7260H4406H7162H4449H1934H2370H5705H2423H6992H1655H7H3052H3346H78512As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.H7606H2423H7985H5709H2417H3052H5705H2166H573213As I watched in the night visions, I saw one like a human being coming with the clouds of heaven. And he came to the Ancient One and was presented before him.H1934H2370H3916H2376H718H1247H606H858H5974H6050H8065H4291H5705H6268H3118H7127H692514To him was given dominion and glory and kingship, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not pass away, and his kingship is one that shall never be destroyed.H3052H7985H3367H4437H3606H5972H524H3961H6399H7985H5957H7985H3809H5709H4437H3809H2255

Daniel’s Visions Interpreted

15As for me, Daniel, my spirit was troubled within me, and the visions of my head terrified me.H576H1841H3735H7308H1459H5085H2376H7217H92716I approached one of the attendants to ask him the truth concerning all this. So he said that he would disclose to me the interpretation of the matter:H7127H5922H2298H4481H6966H1156H4481H3330H3606H1836H560H3046H6591H440617"As for these four great beasts, four kings shall arise out of the earth.H459H7260H2423H581H703H703H4430H6966H4481H77218But the holy ones of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever—forever and ever."H6922H5946H6902H4437H2631H4437H5705H5957H5705H5957H595719Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast, which was different from all the rest, exceedingly terrifying, with its teeth of iron and claws of bronze, and which devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped what was left with its feet;H116H6634H3321H5922H7244H2423H1934H8133H4481H3606H3493H1763H8128H6523H2953H5174H399H1855H7512H7606H727120and concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and concerning the other horn, which came up and to make room for which three of them fell out—the horn that had eyes and a mouth that spoke arrogantly, and that seemed greater than the others.H5922H6236H7162H7217H317H5559H4481H6925H8532H5308H7162H1797H5870H6433H4449H7260H2376H4481H7229H4481H227321As I looked, this horn made war with the holy ones and was prevailing over them,H1934H2370H1797H7162H5648H7129H5974H6922H320222until the Ancient One came; then judgment was given for the holy ones of the Most High, and the time arrived when the holy ones gained possession of the kingdom.H5705H6268H3118H858H1768H1780H3052H6922H5946H2166H4291H6922H2631H443723This is what he said: "As for the fourth beast, there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth that shall be different from all the other kingdoms; it shall devour the whole earth, and trample it down, and break it to pieces.H3652H560H7244H2423H1934H7244H4437H772H8133H4481H3606H4437H399H3606H772H1759H185524As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise, and another shall arise after them. This one shall be different from the former ones, and shall put down three kings.H6236H7162H4481H4437H6236H4430H6966H321H6966H311H8133H4481H6933H8214H8532H443025He shall speak words against the Most High, shall wear out the holy ones of the Most High, and shall attempt to change the sacred seasons and the law; and they shall be given into his power for a time, two times, and half a time.H4449H4406H6655H5943H1080H6922H5946H5452H8133H2166H1882H3052H3028H5705H5732H5732H6387H573226Then the court shall sit in judgment, and his dominion shall be taken away, to be consumed and totally destroyed.H1780H3488H5709H7985H8046H7H5705H549127The kingship and dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven shall be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High; their kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them."H4437H7985H7238H4437H8460H3606H8065H3052H5972H6922H5946H4437H5957H4437H3606H7985H6399H808628Here the account ends. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly terrified me, and my face turned pale; but I kept the matter in my mind.H5705H3542H5491H4406H576H1841H7476H7690H927H2122H8133H5922H5202H4406H3821
