Journeys in Greece

20After the uproar had ceased, Paul called the disciples to himself, embraced them, and departed to go to Macedonia.G1161G3326G2351G3973G3972G4341G3101G2532G782G1831G4198G1519G31092Now when he had gone over that region and encouraged them with many words, he came to GreeceG1161G1330G1565G3313G2532G4183G846G4183G3870G3056G2064G1519G16713and stayed three months. And when the Jews plotted against him as he was about to sail to Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia.G5037G4160G5140G3376G5259G2453G1096G1917G846G3195G321G1519G4947G1096G1106G5290G1223G31094And Sopater of Berea accompanied him to Asia—also Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.G1161G4902G846G891G773G4986G961G1161G2331G708G2532G4580G2532G1050G1190G2532G5095G1161G774G5190G2532G51615These men, going ahead, waited for us at Troas.G3778G4281G3306G2248G1722G51746But we sailed away from Philippi after the Days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days joined them at Troas, where we stayed seven days.G1161G2249G1602G575G5375G3326G2250G106G2532G2064G4314G846G1519G5174G891G4002G2250G3757G1304G2033G2250

Ministering at Troas

7Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.G1161G1722G3391G4521G3101G4863G2806G740G3972G1256G846G3195G1826G1887G5037G3905G3056G3360G33178There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.G1161G2258G2425G2985G1722G5253G3757G2258G48639And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.G1161G2521G1909G2376G5100G3494G3686G2161G2702G901G5258G3972G1909G4119G1256G2702G575G5258G2736G4098G575G5152G2532G142G349810But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, "Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him."G1161G3972G2597G1968G846G2532G4843G2036G2350G3361G2350G1063G846G5590G2076G1722G84611Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed.G1161G305G305G2532G2806G740G2532G1089G5037G3656G1909G2425G891G827G3779G183112And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.G1161G71G3816G2198G2532G3870G3756G3357G3870

From Troas to Miletus

13Then we went ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos, there intending to take Paul on board; for so he had given orders, intending himself to go on foot.G1161G2249G4281G1909G4143G321G1519G789G1564G3195G353G3972G1063G3779G2258G1299G3195G846G397814And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene.G1161G5613G4820G2254G1519G789G353G846G353G2064G1519G341215We sailed from there, and the next day came opposite Chios. The following day we arrived at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium. The next day we came to Miletus.G2547G636G2547G2658G1966G481G5508G1161G2087G3846G1519G4544G2532G3306G1722G5175G2192G2064G1519G339916For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost.G1063G3972G2919G3896G2181G3704G846G1096G3361G5551G1722G773G1063G4692G1487G2258G1415G846G1096G1519G2414G2250G4005

The Ephesian Elders Exhorted

17From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church.G1161G575G3399G3992G1519G2181G3333G4245G157718And when they had come to him, he said to them: "You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you,G1161G5613G3854G4314G846G2036G846G5210G1987G575G4413G2250G575G3739G1910G1519G773G4459G1096G3326G5216G3956G555019"serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews;G1398G2962G3326G3956G5012G2532G4183G1144G2532G3986G3588G4819G3427G1722G1917G245320"how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house,G5613G5288G3762G4851G3361G312G5213G2532G1321G5209G1219G2532G2596G362421"testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.G1263G5037G2453G2532G1672G3341G1519G2316G2532G4102G1519G2257G2962G2424G554722"And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,G2532G3568G2400G1473G4198G1210G4151G1519G2419G3361G1492G4876G3427G1722G84623"except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.G4133G3754G40G4151G1263G2596G4172G3004G3754G1199G2532G2347G3306G316524"But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.G235G3762G3056G4160G3761G2192G3450G5590G5093G1683G5613G5048G3450G1408G3326G5479G2532G1248G3739G2983G3844G2962G2424G1263G2098G5485G231625"And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.G2532G3568G2400G1473G1492G3754G5210G3956G1722G3739G1330G2784G932G2316G3700G3450G4383G376526"Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.G1352G3143G5213G3143G1722G4594G2250G3754G1473G2513G575G129G395627"For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.G1063G5288G3756G3361G5288G312G5213G3956G1012G231628"Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.G4337G3767G1438G2532G3956G4168G1722G3739G40G4151G5087G5209G1985G4165G1577G2316G3739G4046G1223G2398G12929"For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.G1063G1473G1492G5124G3754G3326G3450G867G926G3074G1525G1519G5209G3361G5339G416830"Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.G2532G1537G5216G846G450G435G450G2980G1294G645G3101G3694G84631"Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.G1352G1127G3421G3754G5148G3973G3756G3560G1538G1520G3571G2532G2250G3326G114432"So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.G2532G3569G80G3908G5209G2316G2532G3056G846G5485G3588G1410G2026G2532G1325G5213G2817G1722G3956G3733"I have coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.G1937G3762G694G2228G5553G2228G244134"Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.G1161G846G1097G3754G3778G5495G5256G3450G5532G2532G5607G3326G170035"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"G5263G5213G3956G3754G3779G2872G1163G482G770G5037G3421G3056G2962G2424G3754G846G2036G2076G3123G3107G1325G2228G298336And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.G2532G5023G2036G846G1119G5087G4336G4862G846G395637Then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul's neck and kissed him,G1161G3956G2805G1096G2425G2532G1968G1909G3972G5137G2705G84638sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.G3600G3122G1909G3056G3739G2046G3754G3195G2334G846G4383G3765G1161G4311G846G1519G4143
