The Sin Offering

4Then the LORD spoke to Moses:H3068H1696H4872H5592"Tell the Israelites: When someone sins unintentionally against any of the LORD's commands and does anything prohibited by them—H1696H1121H3478H559H5315H2398H7684H4687H3068H6213H6213H259H20073"If the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, he is to present to the LORD a young, unblemished bull as a sin offering for the sin he has committed.H3548H4899H2398H819H5971H7126H2403H2398H1241H1121H6499H8549H3068H24034He must bring the bull to the entrance to the tent of meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter it before the LORD.H935H6499H6607H168H4150H6440H3068H5564H3027H6499H7218H7819H6499H6440H30685The anointed priest must then take some of the bull's blood and bring it into the tent of meeting.H3548H4899H3947H6499H1818H935H168H41506The priest is to dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the LORD in front of the veil of the sanctuary.H3548H2881H676H1818H5137H1818H7651H6471H6440H3068H6440H6532H69447The priest must apply some of the blood to the horns of the altar of fragrant incense that is before the LORD in the tent of meeting. He must pour out the rest of the bull's blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.H3548H5414H1818H7161H4196H5561H7004H6440H3068H168H4150H8210H1818H6499H3247H4196H5930H6607H168H41508He is to remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: the fat surrounding the entrails; all the fat that is on the entrails;H7311H2459H6499H2403H2459H3680H7130H2459H71309and the two kidneys with the fat on them at the loins. He will also remove the fatty lobe of the liver with the kidneys,H8147H3629H2459H3689H3508H3516H3629H549310just as the fat is removed from the ox of the fellowship sacrifice. The priest is to burn them on the altar of burnt offering.H7311H7794H2077H8002H3548H6999H4196H593011But the hide of the bull and all its flesh, with its head and shanks, and its entrails and dung—H5785H6499H1320H7218H3767H7130H656912all [the rest] of the bull— he must bring to a ceremonially clean place outside the camp to the ash heap, and must burn it on a wood fire. It is to be burned at the ash heap.H6499H3318H2351H4264H2889H4725H1880H8211H8313H6086H784H413H1880H8211H831313"Now if the whole community of Israel errs, and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, so that they violate any of the LORD's commands and incur guilt by doing what is prohibited,H5712H3478H7686H1697H5956H5869H6951H6213H259H4687H3068H6213H81614then the assembly must present a young bull as a sin offering. When the sin they have committed in regard to the command becomes known, they are to bring it before the tent of meeting.H2403H2398H3045H6951H7126H1241H1121H6499H2403H935H6440H168H415015The elders of the assembly are to lay their hands on the bull's head before the LORD and it is to be slaughtered before the LORD.H2205H5712H5564H3027H7218H6499H6440H3068H6499H7819H6440H306816The anointed priest will bring some of the bull's blood into the tent of meeting.H3548H4899H935H6499H1818H168H415017The priest is to dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle [it] seven times before the LORD in front of the veil.H3548H2881H676H1818H5137H7651H6471H6440H3068H6440H653218He is to apply some of the blood to the horns of the altar that is before the LORD in the tent of meeting. He must pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.H5414H1818H7161H4196H6440H3068H168H4150H8210H1818H3247H4196H5930H6607H168H415019He is to remove all the fat from it and burn it on the altar.H7311H2459H6999H419620He is to offer this bull just as he did with the bull in the sin offering; he will offer it the same way. So the priest will make atonement on their behalf, and they will be forgiven.H6213H6499H6213H6499H2403H6213H3548H3722H554521Then he will bring the bull outside the camp and burn it just as he burned the first bull. It is the sin offering for the assembly.H3318H6499H2351H4264H8313H8313H7223H6499H2403H695122"When a leader sins and unintentionally violates any of the commands of the LORD his God by doing what is prohibited, and incurs guilt,H5387H2398H6213H7684H259H4687H3068H430H6213H81623or someone informs him about the sin he has committed, he is to bring an unblemished male goat as his offering.H2403H2398H3045H935H7133H8163H5795H2145H854924He is to lay his hand on the head of the goat and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD. It is a sin offering.H5564H3027H7218H8163H7819H4725H7819H5930H6440H3068H240325Then the priest must take some of the blood from the sin offering with his finger and apply it to the horns of the altar of burnt offering. The rest of its blood he must pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering.H3548H3947H1818H2403H676H5414H7161H4196H5930H8210H1818H3247H4196H593026He must burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the fellowship sacrifice. In this way the priest will make atonement on his behalf for that person's sin, and he will be forgiven.H6999H2459H4196H2459H2077H8002H3548H3722H2403H554527"Now if any of the common people sins unintentionally by violating one of the LORD's commands, does what is prohibited, and incurs guilt,H259H5315H776H5971H2398H7684H6213H259H4687H3068H6213H81628or if someone informs him about the sin he has committed, then he is to bring an unblemished female goat as his offering for the sin that he has committed.H2403H2398H3045H935H7133H8166H5795H5347H8549H2403H239829He is to lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering.H5564H3027H7218H2403H7819H2403H4725H593030Then the priest must take some of its blood with his finger and apply it to the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He must pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar.H3548H3947H1818H676H5414H7161H4196H5930H8210H1818H3247H419631He is to remove all its fat just as the fat is removed from the fellowship sacrifice. The priest is to burn [it] on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the LORD. In this way the priest will make atonement on his behalf, and he will be forgiven.H5493H2459H2459H5493H2077H8002H3548H6999H4196H5207H7381H3068H3548H3722H554532"Or if the offering that he brings as a sin offering is a lamb, he is to bring an unblemished female.H935H3532H2403H7133H935H5347H854933He is to lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it as a sin offering at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.H5564H3027H7218H2403H7819H2403H4725H7819H593034Then the priest must take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and apply it to the horns of the altar of burnt offering. He must pour out the rest of its blood at the base of the altar.H3548H3947H1818H2403H676H5414H7161H4196H5930H8210H1818H3247H419635He is to remove all its fat just as the fat of the lamb is removed from the fellowship sacrifice. The priest will burn it on the altar along with the fire offerings to the LORD. In this way the priest will make atonement on his behalf for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven.H5493H2459H2459H3775H5493H2077H8002H3548H6999H4196H801H3068H3548H3722H2403H2398H5545

Prayer Tents is a Christian mission organization that serves Christians around the world and their local bodies to make disciples ("evangelize") more effectively in their communities. Prayer Tents provides resources to enable Christians to form discipleship-focused small groups and make their gatherings known so that other "interested" people may participate and experience Christ in their midst. Our Vision is to make disciples in all nations through the local churches so that anyone seeking God can come to know Him through relationships with other Christians near them.
